This is fantastic. I really want to be able to play this piece but im still working on bow technique and its really helpful to see how the bow should be moving along with the fingers movements from a POV view. Thank you!!

Deceptive title. Played violin the whole time, never cleaned up. jk Thanks for this view. It is such a rare insight/perspective.

Thanks for posting this! I'm just coming back to my violin after a very long break, and deciding to throw myself at the concertmaster solos because Scheherazade is my favorite piece of all time. Your practice vlog is really helping me digest the more difficult parts in my own practice! :)

Yesterday I decided to apply for the first audition I've taken since 2019 so naturally, I decided to come creep on your channel to see if you have any other excerpt videos besides the ones you made for AYS and I'd just like to say that your fingering for the second line of Don Juan infuriated me at first - SO MUCH PINKY - but after practicing it for a little bit I now understand the wisdom of it and might actually continue to use it. I'm not ~*stellar*~ in the stratosphere and I don't think I have ever seen that fingering in an annotated excerpt before or if I have, I ignored it immediately because I didn't think I could trust my pinky to do all that - it certainly isn't an option in any of the FIVE physical copies I have in my excerpt binder 🙃 Fewer and shorter shifts is great but now I have to work on my 4th finger vibrato up there. I don't know if I've just never noticed it in any other DJ video or if I hallucinated hearing that "you should vibrate the high eighths" but they're just about the only notes you *dont* vibrate so I'm gonna steal that idea too. I don't know if it was my stupid idea to vibrate them, my poor shifting, or likely a combination of the two that always made these few measures extremely out of tune but they're sounding extremely promising in the like 10 minutes I've been practicing it your way. So thank you for the new ideas. I hope you are well! 💜 P.S. If you want a good laugh watch your Don Juan bit at half speed. I promise I was doing it just to catch fingerings and bowings but it sounds like the Pro Level version of those Viva Vibrato exercises 😂

Oh my goodness HI! Nice to hear from you!! I'm so sorry about my fingerings LOL I don't recommend them to anyone and tell everyone to go with what is best for them. I have always been told that I use crazy fingerings, and occasionally, I forget to vibrate *facepalm*. This did very much make me smile and I hope you are doing well!
