The Hmong suffered after the 3 kingdoms lost we were the southwest kingdom when we were conquered by the Chinese we migrated away because they didn’t like us some of us stayed but we don’t live in the cities we live in the mountains and one little town for hmong people we migrated to Laos Hong Kong and Thailand then the Americans came and saw us drafted us to war we helped we died trying then they left us for dead but a lot of us knew we lost so we took our chance to run but some of us stayed because they say oh the Americans are Frankensteins they eat us but they didn’t know what white people react so yeah

This synopsis is highly inaccurate because the film largely depicts people forced to have "sex changes" rather than choosing to. The other option is that they will be put to death - or be forced to pretend that their urges and yearnings don't exist. Not much of a choice.

It was heart breaking to see Gen Vang Pao cried when he was forced to leave Laos. Many many Hmong died trying to escape the revenge from Vietnam and Laos communists. CIA and USA owe these people a lot. Rest in Peace, my friends.

yeah, when he cries about how much he loves his country, Long Cheng, and had to leave behind, oh man, that's when you know how much he loves his motherland. I have never admired anyone as much as General Vang Pao. This man is a figure!

Many secrets that hmong people don't know but your og knows. Gvp sent money to hmoob soldiers to keep the war going. Thats why there is a lot of cao fa. Gvp soldier would threat hmong men to not leave laos to thailand because they said gvp is coming back to continue the war to take over laos. The stupid one believed that lie and they went to be cao fa and they died. Hmong people have to sneak out at night to leave for thailand because they fear death from communist laos, viet, and even hmong cao fa. Hmong people who came back from thailand to get their people in laos is so dangerous because gvp soldier would kill them if they know. Pretty much gvp soldier, vietcong, pathet lao, will kill all hmong trying to flee to thailand. Why gvp soldier kill hmong? Because they don't want hmong to run and they need them to stay and keep the war going so when gvp come back they can take laos. Gvp never came back... feel sorry for all those cao fa waiting for gvp.

We fault the war, 100 Hmong men to save one American live dont mean we are shields. I know you all Hmong don't think that way. I meant... we know we are not shields. We dont sacrifice for nothing but we sacrificed for our freedom. When... asked by the American. We wanted freedom, we want a land that we can live. As they promised. We have agreement. We weren't shields for us to sacrifice freely. We are brave we are not bad people. We quiet and we do what is right. Anyone tell me what we doing is wrong.?. Cmon tell me. I love my kind, my people my culture. I am proud to be Hmoob. No way I change that.
