I have the same machine. How does the top link sensor work out for you? I keep getting empty spots at the beginning of several rows.

The top link sensor is a bit tricky to set up but you need to set it up when the drill is fully up and measure the correct gap on the sensor bracket which I think is 10mm. Consult the book for more info.
