that green hard line didn't impress me I always thought the 2 bay "J" pole had a cardioid pattern. That's why a 4 bay has loops every 90 degrees
@CarrotDugTooDeep
@CarrotDugTooDeep 4 ай бұрын
Yeah, that Heliax was OLD and didn't impress me either, but it still swept okay. The antenna is not a J-Pole. It is a folded dipole. The number of stacked dipoles determines the gain and the their position determines the pattern. Two dipoles stacked on top of each other produces about 5.5 dBd and offset will give about 3 dBd. Both will give an omni pattern, but since the desired coverage is several miles away, I chose to stack the loops for more gain and pointed those loops towards the desired coverage area. It works great and significantly improved their coverage.

I should have clipped both hooks to the left leg. Hind sight. The reason I clipped onto the brace for the right hook was I did not want to damage the coax that was on the right side of the tower by clipping onto that leg. That was the coax...lol It was 1/2" Heliax that had been up there so long that the jacket dry rotted and peeled away, leaving the corrugated copper shield. Sad to say, it was not flex conduit.

I had grown to feel fully confident in my safe climbing skill, but this video made me feel rather queasy, A lot of that was due to fish eye distortion of the camera lens and how the view through it affects the mind. I bet it leaks. what chemical is on the bottom that's etched into the galvanized coating? the killer is the guy wires are just a single loop right around the legs, they are missing the proper eyelets and securing hardware, not to mention they are all rusted and some are frayed. some are very loose, there is no tension relief for the coax or hardline. the tac welds are rusted as well, I wouldn't trust any human weight on a single rung, it could snap at any moment.

I started out just using a 555 timer and a 4017 decade counter. It was not smooth at all, so I did some research. I used a PIC16F628A briefly and it looked okay, so I made a post here www.electro-tech-online.com/threads/pic16f628a-pwm-for-led-chaser.159198/ to see if I could improve the PWM rate. That's when I found out about the newer microprocessors. They were faster, cheaper and smaller, so I bought several different ones and did a lot of reading. The guys at the link above gave me a lot of pointers. I still suck at coding, but it turned out pretty good.

The M10 (MAC-10) is actually one of the most reliable machineguns in existence. The M11 on the other hand can be hit or miss and most of that revolves around the magazines. This gun uses old grease-gun mags, so it is very reliable. The LAGE upper slows the rate down to around 700 RPM, so you can have more control and actually pull off singles and doubles. The original upper is very fast at about 1200 RPM. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGmzfZl9epKegdU This is me shooting the M10 with the original upper. Both videos show my M10 in .45. The LAGE makes it a joy to shoot.

Definitely an amateur climber team. There is no safety line on the antenna assembly to prevent it from free fall if the 2 climbers lose grip on it. The brackets and nuts the mast is supposed to be mounted in are not all in place. This is an accident waiting to happen.

Hello fello tower dog. Hey buddy I don't mean to sound like a safety Sally but I want to point out some things I can see wrong. Ive done this for a while now and built many of those Rohn25g towers. I know first hand about building them under spec and the dangers that can occur. So I hope my words help. Your obviously a hard working intelligent man so the industry needs the likes of you. First off that tower is obviously built out of specs. Some worry here but many are built out of spec. That is wire rope used as guy wire. Which has slipped at some point or was never plumed in the first place. Thats why we see its crooked from the video when you shoot the camera up the tower. You NEEEED to inspect those GUY wire points before climbing. Re plum tower and check tension before climbing. Second thing I see is your clipping off to the lattice. Ive seen many tower sections with broken welds. They can hide under the galvanizing. Always clip off to the vertical on these. You also need to upgrade your Y lanyard to one that has rated gates. Hope this helps buddy. stay alive
