Every chapter has their own method of choosing aspirants. Some will use sporting competitions, others will select survivors of hive gangs. The Ultramarines normally require aspirants to volunteer, at which point they'll be set a challenge - either to survive in a hostile landscape for a certain time, or to fight a full-fledged Space Marine. Not to see if he can beat him, but to see how long he survives. Casualties are expected. In this case, it seems that Metaurus encountered Titus after a battle, perhaps against invading Xenos. I don't think we have the full details, but given that he's dragging along an Astartes combat knife it looks like Titus might have survived an encounter that killed a Space Marine, which is impressive indeed and would certainly count as a recruitment challenge.

In 40k the equivalent of a medicae like Chestnut is an apothecary, who also usually wear white instead of usual chapter colors. Their main job is to retrieve geneseed from fallen brothers. Dreadnoughts r usually maintained by tech marines or/and tech priests usually. The Cuagulators if I would guess r Blood Angels. Each individual planet worships the Emperor in a different way, some primitive worlds see him as a sun god

I have a feeling that Titus was picked specifically because he's demonstrated his unusual resistance to Chaos at least twice, once on Graia and again on Demerium. Tzeench's shenanigans are no surprise for Titus. That sorcerer had no idea what they were in for.

I'm 48 years young I followed Warhammer back in my teens played space crusade and then grew out of it. Then about 10 years ago got back into the law and books. This is what all fans have been waiting for! The visuals the sound that bit at the bit at the end when Titus says "not yet old man" and he walks into battle with that choir music in the background made my senses tingle. What could a full length movie be capable of?

@@themuffinlord6442 Eh, the guy's an Astropath - he's gone through a special treatment called soul-binding which makes him far more resistant to corruption. That's probably why they brought him rather than a regular sanctioned psyker.

I love a morally questionable ai lady with a hot voice. In seriousness, I think the voice feeds into Keanu's pride for being the best and the only one of his kind with it's own possessiveness/need for control over him. Like, every time he say "I" or "Me" she says "We" or "Us" subtly inflating her importance and creating Keanu's attachment to her.

I think it takes place in the same universe of AC6. So that entity would be another coral wave length mutation he got through the augment just like Ayre is for C4-621. It's even the same Voice actress from what I heard. Granted C4-621 got in contact after a Coral surge.

My favourite part is that they made the Astartes _fast_ in combat. It's easy to picture them as being slow and clunky given their bulky armour, an unstoppable force like a tank, but the lore regularly talks about how superhumanly fast they are, and how that speed in itself is horrifying. And then we get this which _really_ shows that, with each attack in the melee moving almost faster than you can see, just a frame or two and heretics are bisected. It's glorious.

Yeah they take 10 year olds, put them through trials that will see most dead then give them surgery that makes them into marines. Diffrent chapter but when Dante from the Blood Angels went for his trial, i think it was a few 1,000 that went in but 20 made it to being recruits. Around 5 survived the implantation processes.

I love the fight scene against the human cultist, it does such a good work to show the actual "transhuman dread" space marines are capable of. Something so huge should not move so fast. They are slaughtering ennemies without any effort, just like puting humans into a meat grinder. to them humans are merly sacks of meat posing no threat. you feel the wait of every punch it's incredible.

I mean, a lot of people either don’t know 40k at all, are devoted, or are at a point in which they want to get into it but know the bare minimum, cause we all know that lore is deep and hard to get into
