Stuck injector pintle, once warm they are able to move if they are carboned up with diesel its like trying to move it in glue it sticks and makes a tap tap tap noise once warm the diesel carbon is slick so the pintle can move again and seat itself. Cheap temp fix stanadyne diesel additive 3 applications or replace all the injectors.

Sounds like the crank shaft pulley is bad the rubber comes apart in them

I had the same problem in my 6.5 and it was # 8 Cylender intake valve. Hydro locked the motor and was junk. Then I dropped in a 5.9 :). Never looked back.

Hutchison is still one of my favorite towns

yesterday, mine 92 2.8 5 speed finally hit 180,019 miles not bad for a 27 year old truck. original engine too.
