Norman was always one of my favorite Pro Golfer's. I had his instruction Video Right pocket back. I also had Jack's Golf my Way and of course Bobby Jones the Master! Sad, we don't have more like them today!

Nice to hear Brandel dispel the myth of lag and showcase one of the greatest drivers of the ball in history.

Graham Sampson - He dispels the lag rumor then references to Ben Hogan later, who had the the most lag of any player in history. Currently only Phil Mickelson comes close on tour. That kind of lag, so deep in to the downswing as Hogan had, does not come from simply having a proper sequence. It is an intentional, conscious act by Hogan in his style of play. As a 2 planer, Norman uses a different style and does not try to hold on. So "holding on to lag" is not a myth. I depends on the style of the player. Hitter, swinger or switter.

@@TheNYgolfer Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson were two of the longer players in their primes and you never heard them talk about lag.. Yes, they were two-planers but does the average guy watching KZbin lag videos know or care about that? After teaching and being a PGA Member for 36-years I would argue that more lag does not equal more distance or more speed. In fact I have two students at school -- one has dramatically more lag than the other but is much shorter off the tee. Lastly, forcing lag into a recreational golfers downswing almost always leads to shanks and slices -- especially if it's combined with a weak grip. Lag is not the holy grail of golf and it shouldn't be promoted as such.
