You need a pole for that shallow stuff. Save your paddle and your back.

Very nicely done. I have put together a planned route through that area, so it was really nice to see some of the important parts of that route in your film. That was really cool with that scotch bottle close-up ... sure had me going. I checked the topo where you saw the boats and dock. It shows a road to Fanny Lake. It looks like the boats might be from Wicksteed Lake. They probably park at the dock, and make the trek to a stored boat on Fanny Lake.

Thanx! Fanny Lake sounds like a more plausable explanation for those boats.

@bushwackerfilms4 ай бұрын
Merci! Thanks! The paddle is a Sawyer Manta Dual Bend I picked up a few years ago. That double-scoop dihedral blade catches the water like no other. I've used doublebend paddles for decades now and love 'em!

I had to study the map for quite a while to figure out where you went. The unlostify/Jeff's Temagami map does not label it as such, but it does make sense that this is all the Marten river. It is cool that you chose this unusual route. You found out why nobody paddles through there.
@bushwackerfilms4 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's clearly marked as such on the federal topos and provincial base maps but a bit obscure on Jeff's Map. I also identified an error in Hap's book, apparently an omission while editing an update, going back to at least the third edition. His map is accurate, but the text description doesn't match up properly.

Appears that you have a lot experience in the bush! Nice video,No fishing?

I traded my fishing tackle for a camera bag more than 40 years ago. Seems the best fishing coincides with the best light. I actually just picked up my rod again two years ago. It's surprising just how much I've forgotten! LOL!

It looks like you needed to hydrate. Drink lots of water. Also, are you low on magnesium and potassium?? Good video, thank you.

Nice video. Great journey. I have been to Wicksteed twice and it's a great lake to explore. Regarding your legs cramping up... all the lactic acid build up from the hard work and possible dehydration could be the cause. Other than hydration and electrolytes, consuming anything with vinegar helps reduce the cramps. Take a little container of pickles with some pickle juice. I take a small 60ml container of apple cider vinegar on all my trips and it helps taking a little sip now and then

I figured that out eventually. It was extremely hot and I wasn't hydrating enough. Good idea with the ACV. I often carry a tiny bottle of that for cleaning and topical uses.

NIce video. Try to speak more clearly, facing camera, so we can hear you. It would be nice to see that you catch some fish and a campfire, but prolly its forbidden in the park. Tree slaughter is also done in my country. There are now less trees than diamonds... ppl gonna kill themselves but will still value the WiFi more over a tree that only produces oxygen.
