It is hard to talk about natural remedies without mentioning kalonji and its myriad benefits. Also known as Karunjeeragam, these tiny black seeds are derived from the Nigella sativa plant. Although it has been around for centuries, the benefits of Karunjeeragam are now getting a lot of attention.

Thanks are due for your the care and the sincerity you have shown. But I am afraid Kalonji is Karungeeerakam only. The black colour jeera is kala jeera in hindi. Perhaps in Tamil nadu this kala jeera or karuppu nira jeera is unknown. Therfore it is either not named or we don't know. But Karunjeerakam by all account means the Hindi Kalonji. This is my understanding. I stand to be corrected, if it's otherwise.

One of the rare and useful videos I've ever seen, that doesn't just cover the same subject for the millionth time with all the wrong info untouched! I'm shocked I never came across this until now in all my searches for distinguishing the very same herbs you have covered here! Worth saving and memorizing your shots! Thanks! Just like you highlighted there are umpteen videos (even by educated people!) that misinform!

Hi , nice video. Can anyone tell me what the kalonji seed is supposed to smell like? I have just got some for the first time in seed form , they have the texture of coal and smell a little like gasoline , is that normal? 🤔 I have oly ever used oil so I am not sure what the seeds are supposed to smell like 😕 Thanks.
