Many people act like Robert Wadlow is a testament to modern height. He is not. The 1940's isn't modern, and he is not an example of healthy height. His family were not tall. What people overlook is that his height has absolutely "NOTHING" to do with his genetics. His height is due to a tumor, granted its better than a tumor in one of your testicles or ovaries but it still killed him. This is not even something he was born with or could have passed on, he just hit the lottery at a young age, and a particular sunbeam or lead paint chip caused one cell in his pituitary gland, to work improperly. There are 100's of people in the past that were taller than 9 foot and they were healthy. @

I think his mom was foolish for burning his clothes. She could have made money by selling his outfits to museums, and people could see his clothes in person. There's nothing wrong with being remembered as the world's tallest man.

I grew up in Alton, Illinois and my mother went to school with Robert Wadlow. He was well-respected in Alton and never treated as a freak. He was very much a gentleman

Robert is a handsome guy! Super friendly & good-looking too. I look up to him as an admiration. He’s inspirational. Although, he may be big, yet he has a heart of gold!

Well at the age of like 14 he had to wear it no wonder his health was going down who knows maybe with no leg brace he would have gotten 28 to 30 and be 9,3 to 9,7

The parade he was in I believe was in Manistee Michigan which is where I live. One of his shoes is on display there at a local shoe store, I remember seeing it as a kid. His shoe is gigantic.
