It's football in general that's heading down hill , its all posession ,touch pass ,touch pass ,touch pass ,that's easy ,you literally need nothing special about you to play professionally, compare today's football say in the premierleague to the past with players like Romario,Ronaldo,ginola,gascoine, ronaldinho, to say Phil foden , grelish, rice, the current stars are good players but they do nothing special compared to a proper skillful past footballer , we will never get better while the game is in this current state of posession.

We should look to invest in aboriginal people. Natural athletes, they are very agile too. If we develop them and get them breaking into europe then australia would be lethal.

why do we completely ignore that the socceroos had arguably their best World Cup run in history in 2022? 2 clean sheets, goals in every game, made it out of a group with France and Denmark, only lost to the eventual winners 2-1.

The FA and A League clubs couldn't run a chook raffle at the local RSL club. Foreign has beens and never wasers noone knows or cares about running around in the A League. All our good young home grown players leave. Television coverage is pathetic. Salary cap means we can't attract world class players. No second division with promorion and relegation. Nothing happens or changes. What's not to like?

Australia Football is Australian Rules Football, not Soccer. Soccer is the traditional name of the sport in Australia, ie Socceroos.

Next season we might have 3 players playing in the EPL if they are all promoted. Souttar (Leicester City) Burgess & Luongo (Ipswich Town) 2 players in the Bundesliga. Irvine & Metcalfe (St.Pauli) And 1 player in Serie A. Circati (Parma) Things are not as bad as everyone is making out. Also Tilio & Irankunda were both left out of the olyroo squad who are the 2 best young attacking players we have so it's no surprise we struggled going forward.

Australian football IS in a mess. Poor international performance and few, if any, players making it to major leagues. Are there any Aussies playing in the EPL / La Liga / Serie A? Comments here are right about excessive registration fees for juniors. Local kids here are paying $3k+ per year. There should also be a ban on imports to the A-League. This serves no purpose. And bring back u/21 or reserve teams in A League clubs. At the moment, juniors get to 18 years old and, for most, need to drop to a lower standard to get a game or simply lose interest. Very few are good enough to jump straight to open-age football. Then football administration..........

The a league is the shitest league in the world not because of lack of talent but because the refs allow red card fouls every single tackle so you are not watching football but mma. It also should be 2 yellow cards and miss a game not 5. When a ref brings his red cards to the game and figures out how to blow the whistle the whole game changes to half decent skillful football. They do not want that because more people will watch and its not good for afl and cricket. This is proven not speculating

Football in this country constantly shoots itself in the foot..junior levels require financial support to help with costs to families..Australia can no longer rely on a crop of young superstar just appearing..it takes support from the governing body to encourage kids to play..some sports are footing the bills to kids on board..
