Not sure if you’re still reading the series, but if so I think you’ll really enjoy the next few books in the series.

This is a fun tag - I did it, too :) The Hunt for Red October is a great pick - I remember what a huge splash it (and Tom Clancy) made when it first came out. Loved The Martian. Have you read Project Hail Mary yet? Love The Hobbit, too. My sin absolutely loved The Wheel of Time series! That was his 2020 pandemic read :) Glad to have discovered your channel!

Vin is a total great. Something I love about her is how Vin manages to impart great lessons to the characters around her: she taught Kelsier that not all the nobles of Scadrial were evil and that there is goodness in some of them, she taught the Imperial soldier Goradel and his companions about not giving up and fighting for people, she taught Tensoon to put aside his misanthropy and open himself to concepts such as goodness in people, friendship and love and helps his beloved Elend deal with his insecurities.

I just subscribed to your channel! I'm about to go back and check out some of your videos! I'm enjoying the Dresden Files but it does seem daunting because of how long the series is, but they're great for in between longer books. I'm thinking I'll do Realm of the Elderlings next year after finishing WoT and getting current with the Cosmere.
@ChaptersWeLove6 ай бұрын
@@CashTalksBooks thank you! I’ll probably read the Dresden files next year. The Realm of the Elderlings is becoming a favorite series So far I love them all 😊

«The Winter King» was my tied for my second best read of last year (together with another «Historical Arthurian» story, «The Retreat to Avalon» by Sean Poage): While Poage might have written my favorite take on «A Historical King Arthur» ever (bring a lot more historical events into his story, such as the British Warlord Riothamus mentioned by contemporaries such as Bishop Sidonius Apolliaris and the Historian Jordanes), the section of Derval in Gaul/France and especially the Seige of Yves Trebon/Mont-St.Michel was my favorite section I read all that year! And the scene where Derval is confronted by the surviving girl who lost everything, genuinly brought me to tears!
@CashTalksBooks6 ай бұрын
I really enjoyed The Winter King! Unpopular opinion but I actually liked it better than Enemy of God(Book Two of Warlord Chronicles). Still haven't read Excalibur just yet!
@MacScarfield6 ай бұрын
@@CashTalksBooks I actually concur on that: «The Winter King» is my favorite and «Enemy of God» is my least favorite, so I hope «Excalibur» will be as good of a finish as it was for me!

Great TBR - I have heard you should read Licanius back to back so I haven't planned them in yet but might read Will of the Many very soon! You're also up for a phenomenal run on Dresden coming up with two of my top tier books Small Favour and Changes. I'm thinking I might read Iron Gold next month actually, great minds think alike!

“What was she like? As a person, I mean.” “She was strong and vulnerable all at once,” TenSoon whispered. “She was my last master, and my greatest. She had a way of pouring everything of herself into what she did. When she fought, she was the blade. When she loved, she was the kiss. In that regard, she was far more … human than any I have known.” Tensoon to Wax in Shadows of Self in Mitsborn Era 2. ❤❤❤❤

There is a reason why this one is my 2nd Favorite Dresden book lol. Murphy (my least favorite main character by a country mile) is not only not in it but shows her true colors in that Opening Scene with Harry for sure.

I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for your WoT content, I was shocked how much I loved book 1. I'm almost current on The Cosmere, just Elantris to read for me before W&T. My favourite Sanderson stuff was Era 2 of Mistborn, though I don't think that's the most popular opinion.

I've read them all now and I have to say that Fool Moon is the worst. Blood Rites for me is a bit of a mess, where it feels like it sort of just ends? I enjoyed a lot of the component parts though. This series started off as a bit of fun for me, and ended up being one of my all time favourites!

Hey man, I tend to do Tier Lists instead of Star Ratings but I can give you my two cents on the First Six as I like to call them: S Tier- unfortunately there aren’t any from the First Six here, the first one is Dead Beat which is Book 7 A Tier- Death Masks, Grave Peril. While Death Masks barely misses out on an S, its quality shines through. People really don’t understand how much Harry had to deal with when dealing with Ortega and Nicodemus at the same time basically lol. Grave Peril on the other hand is in this category for two things. The Opening Scene (which hooked me instantly and cemented my decision into finishing Dresden) and The Party and its Aftermath. The focus on Murphy, with my personal opinion of her, actually brings this one down and almost brings it out of A Tier but the two parts I mentioned before make up for it. B Tier- Blood Rites. Other than the setting for the Case here (which is mostly glossed over if people actually pay attention) this book has a Villain who if he wasn’t nerfed by circumstance would be just as scary as Nicodemus and even nerfed is still terrifying, a great Action Set Piece against the Black Court (which by the way the whole thing with Murphy and her pants is instigated by KINCAID not Harry but people still call Harry Sexist over it), and one of the most important and heartwarming Emotional Gutpunches in the Series History. Not an Elite Dresden Book, but gets far more Flack than it deserves. C Tier- Storm Front, Summer Knight. Ah Storm Front. Harry facing off against another Human Magic User is actually far more rare than most people realize. Also we get to know both Harry Dresden (the most Selfless and Steadfast Protagonist since Peter freaking Parker) and John Marcone (classic Anti-Hero). What’s more to love? Summer Knight however just doesn’t hit for me. I can’t stand Elaine, Murphy plays a big part again. The only thing that keeps this from D Tier is the legitimately AWESOME Battle of Chicago-over-Chicago D Tier- Fool Moon. Some really great characters (The Alphas) but pretty clearly the worst Dresden book

If your TBR isn’t too big already, I highly recommend The Gentlemen Bastards series. It is a low fantasy series about a heist crew with an amazing dynamic with each other (might even be better than Mistborn TFE in my opinion) a great setting, wonderful mystery, and incredible character work that would surely make this list
