I've recently become interested in learning about Dr. King's speech at Elmhurst University. Specifically, how it came to happen here, what he said that evening, and what were the reactions to it. While the words of this lecture were powerfully relevant to the state of our nations' soul, it did not provide the details of the event in Elmhurst on July 8, 1966. If anyone has recollections of that evening, perhaps newspaper clippings of the event, please post them here or let us know where we might find information regarding this specific speech. Thanks.

What an exciting time! Starting school felt like the beginning of a great journey. I know my parents were sad to see me go, but also excited to see the person I’d become. My advice would be to get involved in as many things that interest them as possible. Students have so many great opportunities now like study abroad or great clubs, stuff I wish I had done!

Did the freshman orientation make kids stand up or down depending on their political party? Did they throw the condoms out to the freshman class during the skit on night one? Like they did last year???

At then Elmhurst College...❤I lived in Schick Hall my Freshman Year 1985-1986 (the right side first floor corner windows!) 4th floor Stanger Hall my Sophomore Year 1986-1987 (looking out the back of the building) the back to first floor left side (looking out the back of the building) as a Resident Assistant 1987-1989 before graduating! What great memories and wow, how those rooms' furnishings have changed. ❤😊

Hi there! This program does not currently support students who live in California. Here's a list of approved states (you would need to reside in one of these states for the duration of the program): onlinedegrees.elmhurst.edu/authorization

When I was a senior in high school I had a choice between 4 different colleges and I picked Elmhurst solely based on the fact that I would get to study with Doug and be in the Elmhurst College Jazz Band. That was the defining factor in my college choice. It turned out even better than I expected.

This is exactly the same with me! I didn't even know about Elmhurst until Doug and the Jazz Band came to play at my high school... After that Elmhurst was my #1 choice, and playing in the Jazz Band was an awesome experience.

Hello, can I finish my prerequisites self-paced (in accredited college) before submiting my application to ABSN at Elmhust University? And if i get accepted to accelerated nursing program, and later, for example fail a final exam let say in Pharmacology, can i retake the exam or can i retake the Pharmacology course, or do i need to start nursing program from beginning? What is the percentage rate of students get into ABSN and fail it? Thank you!

Hi, if i join ABSN program and later I need to move to different state, will I be able to transfer my credits to another Accelerated nursing program? Thanks

Hi Tatiana! Our ABSN program is fully accredited, but we cannot make guarantees as to which coursework would be accepted as transfer credits by another institution. Many accelerated BSN programs have cohort models that don't allow for transfer credits. However, our ABSN program is only 16 months long, so hopefully this would not be an issue.

Our online ABSN program has one 10-day and one 5-day residency. Our online MENP program has just one 10-day residency near the beginning of the program.

Hi Kevin, our Accelerated BSN program has no time limit for when prerequisite courses were completed. For our Master’s Entry in Nursing Practice program, prerequisites must have been completed within the past 5 years.
