It's a stupid gimmick. I can do the same thing with a good siren and it will sound MUCH better.

Well Powercall's intersection tone is good as well, definatly get's peoples attention, which is definatly what matters.

companies sell them. Either way, they're shitty. All of the trucks in my station have the original Sho-Me Warble/Whoop powercall sounding siren (the "original" was the GE PowerCall, back in the the 70's or so). It has the two powercall sounds, and that's it. Any other electrical siren sound that we want (wail, yelp, hi/lo or phaser depending on the truck) we use the other electrical siren (most are PA300's). There are also many other no-name companies out there that make stupid sirens....

Well, Tomar makes good lights, but crappy sounding sirens. The company PowerCall Sirens (not the original PowerCall producer, btw) has some of the shittiest sounding ones ever, the only tone they can get right is the PowerCall Whoop, and they even dropped the faster one and replaced it with 6-Adam, which just sounds stupid. The other tones, wail, yelp, phaser, etc on their sirens sound disgusting and weak. Sho-Me also sells the same sirens (they're all made by the same company, but different

Anyone out there heard of a Sirovox electronic siren? I first heard one in the mid 50's. I don't remember ever hearing this motorola siren, however. I used one of the original GE Powercall sirens in the late sixty's. It had more of a realistic siren sound than most the current electronics do.
