OK. Jeff. I grew up in the youth group of a church that you pastored and have respected you on every level until this series. Regarding men in women's sports and using the Olympic case, we do not know from a reliable source that Imane Khelif has XY chromosomes. So....what if you are wrong? What if you are using her to push your narrative, and are just dead wrong? Worst case scenario, this person is a male...instead of choosing to be mad about this, maybe consider that the other athletes are already in a sport where they know that they are going to get punched in the face and have the autonomy to proceed or not. This is not the same as a man walking up to a woman on the street and punching her in the face. Your persistence in calling her a man, use of transgenerISM, your comfort of saying transvestite from the stage (even in context of this being a memory) is staggering. Given that you are a pastor standing in a position of power and privilege in front of a congregation that is predominantly part of a political party that frequently uses this and other language to dehumanize, legislate against, and sometimes commit acts of violence against the trans community is absolutely nauseating. Regarding the person you are platforming. She gives a lot of points about how gender affirming care MIGHT do more harm than good, and then leads with all kinds of assumptions that it DOES and that the science is decided in a way that agrees with her pre-established narrative of gender identity, when the general consensus is that it absolutely is not. You talk about therapy. And YES, Absolutely! Therapy SHOULD be a part of and not in opposition to gender affirming care. Gender affirming care is not JUST surgery and puberty blockers, which are only rarely used (surgery almost NEVER used in the US for minors.) Even given this, she automatically shoots therapy down....what then? What does she suggest that we should do? Only send them to ``biblical (Southern Baptist, conservative, and increasingly fundamentalist interpretation of the Bible) counselors`` who will tell the individual that they are wrong about their self-perception, counsel parents and teachers to reject their own child as is? We already know how that this contributes suicide risk in this already vulnerable population. And I do not bring this up to scare or manipulate, we have real statistics about the suicide rates among the trans community and factors that contribute to the desperation that leads to these attempts. More than 40% of transgender adults in the US have attempted suicide (Williams Institute), largely driven by institutional prejudice, discrimination, and lack of support. Imagine if the church really meant ``come just as you are,`` a church that looked at medical and political systems that lead to stigma and prejudice and helped educate and counter this, that advocated for rights and anti-discrimination policies in local, state, and federal legislation. If not this, then maybe not play into the fear and panic that people have around these issues, recognize that even in an era where there is more trans visibility, it is still a very small percentage of the overall population, and help families walking through this on a case-by-case basis. In middle school I decided to go by a shortened version of my middle name and not use my first name. Is this too a ``perversion of the Christian story?`` People change, people evolve in all kinds of ways, why is someone who wants to go by a different name that more accurately reflects the way that they see themselves automatically a perversion of the Christian story? Further, tell me how any of this talk and theology would hold up for someone BORN intersex. How is this way of existing outside of the gender binary any different than someone who is transgender when it comes to your theological positions? The intersex experience is MORE common than those who identify as transgender, yet I have NEVER heard an evangelical pastor address this? why? But all are welcome...ok. Lastly, WHY assume that transgender individuals, gay individuals, other LGBTQIA+ individuals are not reflections of the glory of God, who the Bible says are made in His image, and assume that they are not connected to Christian thought or friendship? I don't see that anywhere in the Bible or in research. Please, if you are going to engage in cultural hot button issues, consider having a panel and not just one person who is parroting right wing talking points. I recognize most of her talking points, many are detailed in the book ``Irreverable damage,`` written by a journalist who obtained the information largely from looking at the increase in people identifying in ways that are gender non-conforming (very real reality) and interviewing the parents who had been ostracized by their adult children. I took a deep dive into Dr. Katie McCoy's Instagram after I saw that you commented on her post there, and her sources are not peer reviewed, evidence based, and some are downright anti-intellectual. Consider having someone who works with this population and hears their side of the story, or even someone who IS transgender.

You cannot say "his likeness and image" reason God never was is not and never will be human. You are bringing the most powerful enyity which created you to a lower and limited form. Don't !!!! Omg you are confusing yourself as well as others....that's your understanding and perception. Omg 🙄🤯💭💭💭
