I've seen the best sunsets and sunrises ever from the top. One sunrise the mist covered all the ground and the sun turned it yellow and red. Like floating above coloured clouds with church spires poking through. Very dreamy and trippy. Only lasts 20 minutes as the sun rises it burns the mist off and ends the show. I think heaven will look like that.

I’m so glad I found your channel! About 2 years ago, I started having trouble walking. Long story short, turns out I was in dire need of a hip replacement! I was forced to gradually lessen the time I was able to walk LouLou... (my little Pom who refuses to let anyone else walk her!) Now as I look back, that’s when her cough started! Unfortunately she had to have three vet visits and two rounds of antibiotics, which were needless! I’m working on the weight problem (there’s nothing wrong with her appetite!) Thanks for sharing your story. I’m sure you have saved Pom owners much $$$! BTW, I was wondering if your video was taken before or after or during his weight loss? With the amount of fur these lovelies have, it’s hard to tell! BTW, you have a beautiful little Pom! 🦊

Thank you for your comments. I am not surprised by your comments about your Vet prescribing anti-biotics! I understand that Vets undergo more training than medical doctors do, yet they sometimes appear to just guess at remedies without understanding the actual cause. Of course this is also an excuse to charge outrageous fees for their services! My Vet wanted to send my Pom to another city to have an MRI scan with sedation that was going to cost £7,000 GBP! I then looked at my Pom's medical history record card and noticed that he had steadily gained weight. Visualising the internals of the trachea and surrounding area (I am an engineer by profession) suggested to me that the trachea was being smothered by fatty tissue. Hence my idea of reducing his weight - and it worked mostly. This was 8 years ago. He still has the occasional cough, as you said - "Poms love to eat"!! In the case my Pom when this video was made it shows him suffering from this condition and he was overweight. Reducing his weight by 0.5kg was sufficient to reduce the problem by 80%!! You should be able to feel his rib cage with your fingertips, but the ribs should not be too pronounced either. If you cannot feel the ribs of your pom at all then he is definitely overweight and reducing his weight will be a good course of action for many reasons. Good luck and I hope that your hip replacement has been done now and all is well :-)

You are never supposed to use a leash on these kind of dogs. You are collapsing the trachea....
@tylerstrong17762 жыл бұрын
@@cooltubejeffperdiue actually you do use leashes just not collars. You want to use harnesses and not collars. If you have a harness then the leash clips back behind the front shoulder blades and does not choke the dog. I've got 6 pomeranians so believe me when I say I know what I'm talking about.

my pompom doing the same..i adopted her in humane society, they said its the pomeranian hereditary that they cough like this. they said its the respiratory problem to all pom pom. Poor fur baby.
@Chances19574 жыл бұрын
Yes it is a respiratory problem with the trachea - the breathing pathway to the lungs. I can only suggest that you ensure that your Pom does not have excess weight as this exacerbates the problem in my personal experience. You're not alone; we all have poms with this problem, but this does not mean that anything bad will happen. Enjoy your Pom :-)

I have a 7 month old blue merle Pomeranian. He woke up tonight making a honking sound and also choking and gagging. It lasted a little over a minute and happened twice. He is so young. Could this be a collapsed trachea? At this age?
@Chances19574 жыл бұрын
No, it is not likely to be a collapsed Trachea at this young age. All small dogs have a tendency to make the noise that you have described including Chihuahuas and Jack Russell's. If it happens again try and make a video of the incident and show it to your Vet. He will be able to identify the problem if there is one. I hope that he will be fine and that this was just an isolated incident.
@denisedavis99083 жыл бұрын
I have had a pom with collapsing trachea and I have a pom now with collapsing trachea. It can be seen on xrays. Neither one had to be sedated for the xrays. And it is serious if it is collapsing trachea. It is also very unfortunate for them. I give this pom the same meds I have my other pom. I give this as needed. If she only does it a few times I just comfort her. If it continues with out a break for a few minutes I give her the medicine. The trachea can become irritated. See a vet do not take the diagnosis of someone who is not a vet and has not seen your pom. If you could record or video an episode that would help the vet detetmine reserve sneeze or collapsing trachea.

@tylerstrong17762 жыл бұрын
@@JF-NYC-NJ-Girl doubtful at that young of an age. I'd look into reverse sneezing or allergies first. It's that time when all the pollen comes out this time of year and I have one that's 1yr and half and one that's 6 going on 7 and they both have these fits sometimes then they may not do it for a long time then start back up out of nowhere. @Chances19574 жыл бұрын
I am sorry to hear this about your pom. They are such dear little dogs. This could have been due to a number of reasons. It could have been a heart problem. What colour was the tongue? Seven years is a bit young to have a heart problem, but anything is possible. It may have been a seizure. Did you take your pom to a Vet for a check up? Without seeing this behaviour it is very difficult to assess from a description. If it happens again and if possible, ask someone to video your pom whilst you attend to its needs. PS. I am not a Vet so I cannot advise, but only offer commonsense comments.

My dog has the same problem , she had a cough only , they gave us medication for it , she finished the 7 day medication but she still coughing a bit. It’s about to be a month soon. We are planning on taking her back. They wasn’t specific if it was kennel cough. Was you able to find out what to do with your dogs cough ? 😕
@Chances19574 жыл бұрын
The biggest contributor to the cough that my dog has is being overweight. If my dogs weight is 4.1kg he will be fine. If his weight approaches 4.6 to 4.8 kg then he will cough 30-40% of the day and night when he stands up. Keeping my dogs weight under control is crucial for controlling this condition. I believe that fatty tissues encroach or compress on his trachea. One other observation is to keep flowers out of your home. We found Lilly’s a particular aggravation. Write again if you have more questions.

Aww poor baby my pomeranian does this when she's excited about going outside, for car rides, and when she wakes up. We've taken her to the vet and they said it wasn't kennel cough but we still don't know what it is.
@Chances19574 жыл бұрын
Andrea_Christine thank you for your message. Our Pom started this condition when he was 4-5 years old. Through careful observation we determined that it was weight related. Carefully controlling his diet and reducing his weight from almost 5kg down to 4.2kg greatly improved his condition. One other observation that we have recently noted concerns dental hygiene. Our Pom has recently had several teeth removed that had become infected. Having his mouth cleaned by a vet made a big difference. However, his teeth soon became contaminated with tartar. I am now using a silver teeth cleaner which slips over my finger so that I can clean his teeth. I use a special toothpaste called “Logic oral hygiene Gel” The act of keeping his mouth clean seems to have made a big difference to his coughing. I purchased the silver teeth cleaner from Amazon. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004W78EFK?ref_=pe_3187911_248764861_302_E_DDE_dt_1 Please let me know if you have any questions.
