I just got my KX2. I am learning from scratch about antennas. So you put your counterpoise using a mini banana plug and a wire? I have the same antenna set up and was wondering where to put the counterpoise. I have seen some use the side panel screws. I am still confused about the ground and counterpoise situation. Your video was the first I have seen up close. I am also going through the KX2 manual. Thanks for the video.

Hello using this same Amp (AL-811) Not the 881H. With my Yaesu FT-710 and MFJ 989C Tuner and KIO Hex beam antenna. I noticed that the Yaesu FT 710 only goes to 25 watts max on AM but goes to 100 Watts on SSB FM CW or RITTY. And only goes as low as 5 watts not to zero. I been learning how to tune up mine. So you say start on with the radio (Exciter) at 25 watts tune up then go to 40 watts and tune up then go up to say 60 watts and tune up. Yes I know you do not want to exceed 700 on the plate current nor 150 mA on the grid current. Thanks for the video it does help to know adjust plate first then grid. And wait a few seconds between adjustment. I am making notes on my settings for the frequencies I talk on, I did notice this amplifier does not do 28 MHZ. Thank you.
@HamRadioAdventures
@HamRadioAdventures 23 күн бұрын
Thank you for commenting and I’m sorry I missed your reply earlier. The important thing is not to go fast. Speed in tuning will pick up later. It’s important to re-tune the plate. W6LG has a good video on this using an LB4 amp. There are different ways that people tune these up, but essentially they’re the same. Good luck 73 and good DX!

Nice video, thank you. My parents and I used to tent camp in Ocala when I was a kid. I'm looking for a spot to tent camp that's secluded, and quiet (without RVs if that's possible), and near trails and wildlife. Can you make some recommendations? My ultimate campground would have lots of forest between campsites. Thank you in advance for your thoughts.

@@HamRadioAdventures what i was trying to ask, can I use this software for logging not using rig control. I do not, cannot use rig control, so will this still log my contacts?

@@richsabo1 RR In ACLog, transceiver setup, disable(stop) polling. Or, just don't setup Transceiver control in ACLog and it won't start polling. Polling means it is trying the connection to the rig.
