Happy, happy fun song, I have been singing this classic for 60 odd year, I was a young man back then. I've never changed. Still a boy.

I just read an article that I m copying here from the web (I believe it.s microsoft entertainment page Story by Jane O'Shea) Elton John's "Crocodile Rock" came under fire in 1974, when composer Buddy Kaye sued its songwriters, claiming that they'd taken chords from the (almost equally as famous) song "Speedy Gonzalez". Although they reached a settlement, one of the songwriters of "Crocodile Rock," Bernie Taupin, later admitted to his own "guilt". As he said, "I wanted it to be a record about all the things I grew up with. Of course it's a rip-off, it's derivative in every sense of the word". I had no idea.

I grew up listening to the radio in Oklahoma, we got three big stations, KOMA in Oklahoma City, 100 thousand watts. WBAP Ft Worth. You could pick up KOMA in California at night. That’s why so many songwriters come from Oklahoma, we’re exposed to a variety.

Johnny Mercer is one of the most interesting guys you could ever learn about, from Georgia Old money, started in the music industry during the great depression after his family business went bankrupt, then went on to found Capitol Records

How fortunate were we to have such great music in our youth. To live in a time that was so simple. Better music than now. I'm so glad we had beautiful harmony in our music. I've got it all on my phone . Listen to it all the time. My wife had never heard it then. She loves it. Sings along with it. My best to all of our generation
