The show only filmed in Cleveland for three more months after this. By the July 5, 2003 show, _Cash Explosion_ moved permanently to Columbus for filming. Seven months later, Paul and Sharon were both gone.

If I were ditching “Cash Explosion”, I’d replace it with something that resembles “La Poule aux œufs d'or”. As a Québec lottery show, it debuted about six years after CE. (BTW, if you haven’t watched “La Poule”, now is a good time to start. As of the latest episode on the provincial lottery’s official KZbin channel, dated October 15, 2023, the jackpot is at an historic $1.1 million. The biggest payoff was previously $1,075,000.)

Fantastic find! I used to live in Ohio when "Cash Explosion" started. Back then, seven lottery players were in a race to $50,000 and would draw cards to (hopefully) move up the track to the $50K goal (some cards represented backward steps). Karen, seen here doing an excellent job pinch-hitting, would often draw the Pick 3 and Pick 4 games (former was known as simply "The Number") and the big money lotto games -- even during the week.

Have you uploaded any pre-“Double Play” episodes of “Cash Explosion”? In them, seven players competed throughout the show, they would draw cards from a box to determine how high or low they would go on a game board. First player to reach the goal won $50,000. Runners-up got to spin for a consolation prize. To a certain extent, neighboring Michigan copied the original CE.

@20:46 I always preferred the Showcase Showdown-style championship compared to this. The one where a lottery leader would draw a target number and the contestants would have one or two spins to spin as close to that target without going over it.
