Growing up as a kid, i lived near my local airport and i used to hang around the local airport, sometimes even help the local pilots refuel their planes. We had two ag companys at our airport. One had all Piper's, Pa-25, Pa-36 and the other had all Cessna's C-188. The guy who had the Piper's was my hero growing up. he survived many crashes only to succumb to cancer. He was in his later 60's when he died. He had the first plane he started with, a C model, Piper Pa-25, which was still been used right up till the company about 5 years ago. All the Piper Pa-36's are back in the U.S.A. Two of the Pa-36 were converted to turbo props The person's name was Ted Blanch. As i said, he was my hero growing up and will be always, R.I.P. Ted.

I grew up watching these, tea estates in Africa. Always idolized the pilots, unfortunately no such training available for me till now😢

Remember ...times of harvest & prep Work...of fields was approached by supervisor to do experimental task of Delivering green larva lace wing to fields by remote control Hank bluebaker approached my dad in this task he welcomed that idea.. sussed but needed many more flyers to fulfill all the fields..

Not sure why he is flying so low. Optimum application is about 1/3 the wingspan altitude.

That is true.....although, as it has been said in past comments, this was this pilot's last season, and he was going for his 70th birthday and was used to flying this low. He is still alive and retired long ago and I still have contact with him.

In the '60s, when I was flagging, my boss, flying a Pawnee, always had his wheels in the crops. One day I saw a rabbit hop and get disengaged by the small pump prop under the hopper.
