This may not be appropriate but "soft jazz" is like a "soft hard on"
@hcrun11 сағат бұрын
LOL!! 😄 Well, Rod....I'll let it pass this time. "Hard Jazz" to me is akin to a bunch of musicians tuning up before performing. An orchestra, for example, plays "hard jazz"" when they are all plucking and blowing and tweaking before the conductor calls them to order. "Soft jazz" is when there is a groovin', soul, bluesy, lounge beat to the music. That's why I call something like this track "soft jazz".

Rod, I get a great deal of pleasure and enjoyment out of what I do and love to share it. Most likely that is why I do a radio program - sharing my love of music with others and I know they enjoy it from the feedback to the station. So thank you for listening and for your comments. With regard to Astrud and Bebel Gilberto - Astrud was once married to Joao ("Joe") Gilberto. She was his wife from 1959 to their divorce in 1964. Bebel is the daughter of Joao and the woman with whom he had the affair. I had a crush on Astrud from when I first heard her back in 1966, singing this very song. She died in June 2023 at the age of 83. For me, she lives on in her songs.
@roderickcampbell21056 күн бұрын
@@hcrun Astrud lives on for me. And I will look/listen for more Bebel. Voices like that don't come around every day. My wife (estranged) is very beautiful. But she does not have a great voice. A cackly Newfoundland voice! I turn my ears away. But she is easy to look at. Astrud!

Thank you for your feedback...most appreciated. Please allow me to make a tiny clarification to what you said, and I quote directly from the sleeve notes: "In 1955 Steve Allen used a countermelody to "Moonglow" as the melody for his "Theme From 'Picnic'", a relationship that was emphasized when both "Moonglow" and "Theme from 'Picnic'" were played as an intermingling medley".
