@JohnFraser-y9i yes llaia big ticket £210 or estuary leven tickets. Possible day tickets I imagine. www.lochlomondangling.com/membership/ It's in Scots law I'd imagine to target migratory fish in proximity to river systems. what fly patterns were you using?
@CF_Fishing5 күн бұрын
@CuriouscC88 mostly blue silver red blacks. Size depends on what we think they are feeding on. If taking sprats or bigger sandeels then a large baitfish pattern. If they are taking shrimps. Then small medicines, teal blue, blue mirage, Gledswood blue, squirrel blue and silver is my favourite on the dropper.
@CuriouscC885 күн бұрын
@CF_Fishing alright thanks, yea blue and silver seems to be the go to, I started fly fishing over there last season had a little success but good fly fishing conditions are hard to come by haha will be getting more into it next season, cheers 🎣

Nice one Colin, looks like a decent wee beat. I had looked at it but ended up not going. Do you have to park near the wee row of houses/B&B just off the main road to Peebles and walk down the field to the river?

Seems to be loads of fish there this year! I fished the blane just where it meets the endrick many years ago. Was catching brownies, roach or dace. Never knew there was Chubb in there!
@CF_Fishing15 күн бұрын
@adamfergusson1 perch, roach, dace and chub. Chub can go big and Max landed a few years ago a fly caught chub of around 5.25lb an unofficial scottish record. It wasn't recognised as sfca only had a bait record which is over 6lb from the Annan.

Ha, I had the same experience in September Colin. Fishing the Kinermony beat above which included that top pool down to the burn. Fish showing all down the pool. Not a touch 😂. It was fishing that beat that persuaded me to get back into using a full spey line as I was getting fed up with all the stripping!
@CF_FishingАй бұрын
Aye crazy numbers of fish in there. I still class myself as a bit of a novice with the big rods on the big rivers as I only started fishing for salmon about 16years ago and only 12years the odd time with double hander. So full spey lines have never been my thing. Learning all the time. It sure is difficult and an expensive hobby especially if you live in Glasgow cause the big quality rivers are so far away.
