Redondo was once a fishing Mecca, now just a remnant of what it was. So many Bonita sometimes yellowtail off the short pier. An occasional salmon on the big pier, it was great. Now it’s dead, sure there’ll a fish around but not like richness that it was. And all the fish in this vid are micro. It’s too bad.

Sabikis, jig head with white or pink swim baits and or high low rigs. Try salted anchovies, shrimp and squid. I've heard of some people catching nice size san bass off mussels.

Next time try casting out the sabiki rig and slowly reeling it in through the water at different depths. And don’t bring the line in quickly when you get a bite, keep reeling at the same pace as long as there’s still tension on the line. That way you can find how deep the school of mackerel is and you can bring in a few of them at a time.
