I have the trial version of rhino right now but it won't let me convert to STEP says export does not support meshes or annotation objects. Went back to see about Suzanne being my tester and it still came up with the same thing. Do you need a full version of Rhino to convert correctly?

you have to cut into it or export from a program that supports creasing (like fusion -free ver is fine-, probably rhino) note that t-spline creasing is a binary value. the crease will then turn into a edge that the program will recognise as fillitable/chamferable.

Man...I came here to see how you did the grip, which is basically the most complex part of any weapon for modeling and you didn't include it to the video. I assume it took you quite some time to model the grip and this is why you didn't include it.

im kinda new to zbrush workflow, is it a viable strategy to use smooth brush for making bevels on individual corners? or should i only use it to smooth out whole parts of the model, so all bevels stay even?

forget my question, I just found out. I leave it here in case anyone else is as stupid as I am. I am using the 30 day free Trial version wich does not support IGES Files. One has to buy the Studio Version for 299 USD in order to get it working. That way one would theoraticly be able to start with polygons in Blender - turn it into nurbs and keep on working in plasticity and send it back as OBJ to Blender - basicly the holy grail of 3D in my opinion. Would have loved to test the workflow though before buying the software.

The workflow is not good at all, it can be improved a lot, only with Plasticity and Blender you can do everything with the same result. Taking it to Zbrush is also a good option, but I would take the whole Low to Zbrush, create the high and then uvs in Blender. There are several addons to optimize uvs in Blender great that you get the same result and faster. But congratulations good for the work, you just need to optimize your workflow, greetings.
@daveweinstock
@daveweinstock 6 ай бұрын
You can't just take a low-poly to Zbrush and dynamesh it. You need to have enough polygon density, or the faceting will dyanmesh as well. This is why you export the dense High Poly from Plasticity. You can attempt to polygroup by creases and then crease by PG but it often creates artifacts. Using the remesh workflow in Blender is too slow. You can do UV's in Blender but Rizom is superior for UV unwrapping. What is shown here is the typical game workflow when using Plasticity.
@raulgomez8523
@raulgomez8523 6 ай бұрын
@@daveweinstock If you read well, at no time I said to do Dynamesh to the Low, but to do the High from that Low. You can create a High from the Low in Zbrush in many ways and after that you do dynamesh and the rest of the process. It is clear that zbrush is faster and better for that workflow, but not everyone can afford the license. I have been using zbrush for a long time until Maxon appeared, then I didn't renew the license and now I do the same in Blender, it's just finding the most efficient way to do it and with the lowest possible cost, especially for those of us who are professionally dedicated to this. Now, if you can afford it, it's clear, zbrush is the number one in sculpting. But this workflow, you can use it in Blender without any problem. Besides, the purpose of my comment, is to use as few software as possible, not to be jumping from one software to another, which implies errors that can arise when exporting and importing and with the consequent loss of time. Time is money. Best regards.

@@raulgomez8523 If you could write well maybe that would have made any sense. Your syntax is awful but it's understandable if English isn't your first language. As I already said, creating the High from the Low in Zbrush is just more work when you can do the workflow outlined in this video. Simply export a high-density mesh from plasticity, dynamesh, and polish by features, decimate and export. The workflow outlined in this video is about as optimized as you could make it. You're rude and wrong. Doing everything in Blender is slow.

@@daveweinstock My syntax is just as horrible as yours. And no, English is not my first language, so since I'm rude and wrong, stop giving lessons on how the process is, I've been doing this for many years and I know exactly what I'm talking about. There are many ways to do it, and do it well, if you are doing well with yours, congratulations. I repeat again that my opinion is for those who cannot afford to pay for software licenses, so that they know that there are other alternatives. Not everyone is as lucky as you are, to be able to afford them and even more so when you are just starting out. But let's see if you understand this, pass from me and live your life. Best regards crack!!!!!!

Literally in the title. Independent software developer obviously strapped for cash. Seems to be a very good toolset but the free version only allows you to save to projects which is kinda low. He has said the even the fifty dollar version makes him basically nothing which doesn’t make sense unless he has gone into debt to release it. Which given how beautiful the program is I definitely think it is possible. It’s just too bad that blender and other programs are completely free and have skill sets which atleast come close to offering most of the functionality. I think he would be better off making a regular version and an industrial license. Or simply restricting certain functions on the premium rather than making it completely useless after two projects. That’s just way to few for me to get into it. I don’t have the money now but if I got six months with it and really fell in love then I could easily see spending a hundred dollars. The setup up now bespeaks of money troubles and I am only saying that because I have been there and it sucks and it has very obvious signs one of which is not having the ability to make things affordable just because you absolutely cannot afford to give it away. I truly emphasize but the way the developer spoke about max and Maya it was obvious he was tempted to just sell it despite the fact he built it as an alternative. I am just speculating. If the creator reads this, you have done something truly beautiful and I completely support your decision. But please consider allowing a few more than two projects or just a time limit. Or Maybe even charging five bucks a month which would be 60 bucks or ten bucks a month. The whole chunk is hard for starving artists to muster. It’s not your fault I am poor your product is worth more than a hundred dollars really but blender just seems to steal everything and make it free and I am not sure how your going to navigate that.

@@dorjedriftwood2731 Blender isn't free, hundreds of loyal supporters donate money to them to make it free for others. If it wasn't for them, Blender would be a subscription service. Also, Plasticity doesn't have a free version; they have a 30 day free trial, so of course it's going to have limitations. Don't complain that you can only save 2 projects when the reason is because you're using a free trial. I understand that you may not be able to afford the full version, but it seems unfair to the developer to be asking for more features to be added to the free trial version when he is already selling the full version for only $100. This guy is doing an insane service to us. His competitors are selling similar software for hundreds of dollars PER MONTH, and yet he's selling it for just $100, no subscription. Asking for more features on the free trial when the dev is already offering it for a cheap price is ridiculous
