At the prerelease I lost to Oko in the finals. Small prize pool, but the winner opened 2 more Oko's in his 3 prize packs

when the judge saw the demonic attorney, he could’ve rolled the game back to when the violation happened instead of issuing a game loss (restarted the game and removed all banned or marked cards from the deck) then given a loss for multiple violations

Oko was proof that WOTC’s testing team was woefully underskilled for their job.

Is it too much to ask for us as a community to voluntarily destroy the speculative bubble around the cost of cards, and just go back to good ol' collecting?

platinum angle is one of my favorite cards, I once played one v one against a CEDH deck that really wanted to combo off, however I managed to ramp out a platinum angel just in time, and make it targetable. My opponent, unable to remove it since their deck focuses on winning rather than removing the pieces of opponents, lost on the spot.

How do you not immediately get punched in the center of your face when you rip up my card? Yeah, I play MtG, but I also wrestled for 26 years, 4 at the D1 level and 12 more coaching at my Alma mater. I am a pretty chill, fairly nerdy guy, but un-sleeving one of my cards (particularly something not easily replaceable) and proceeding to rip it in half is getting you a broken nose and a ride way up high followed by an exponentially precipitous return to earth, albeit not on your feet. I realize violence is “never” the answer, but I also realize some people only respond to violence as they believe the “law” insulates them from accountability which redoubles their smarminess. Once in a while having someone kiss concrete is exactly what the situation calls for and from what I’ve heard thus far, this is one of those situations. Anyway, interesting story and even better delivery of said story. New subscriber here.

I think it’s also important to mention that Oko’s +1 when being used as removal is a giant middle finger to self-mill/graveyard decks. Normally when something gets removed by green, the graveyard deck can re-cast it in some way, so it’s not a significant blow. And if something gets removed by blue it’s usually by a counter or bounce, which has the same effect of being able to at least potentially replay it. But Oko keeps the original Card on the battlefield and modifies it. No recasting, no graveyard recursion, no indestructible. Your Etali is a vanilla 3/4, tough shit, deal with it.

Ahh my people. For so long i rocked a red/black minotaur tribal deck here at my local tourneys, i only had one persom cheering me on helping me tune it and make it semi competitve. Everyone else was annoying and kept telling me "minotaurs will never be competive, try building a good tribal deck 🤓☝️" but even without a playset of cavern of souls i would at least get top 5 a lot so i considered that a successful deck dammit. I love minotaurs. Currently looking at making a commander minotaur deck with Sethron as the commander 🙌 i also am a shiny addict lmao so not only are minotaurs metal as fuck but they are also cheap to bedazzle and buy shiny versions of everything 😂

If Standard is a regular 3 count/ submission wrestling match Vintage is an ECW deathmatch. If Standard is playing Basketball with your friends at the park Vintage is playing against the 1993 Chicago Bulls. That's the difference.

@jeffreyscott801 To be fair I wasn't playing in the competitive circuit during oko's time, but I was playing during combo winter, and I have seen levels of hate that include players losing their mind screaming, cursing, picking up and throwing their own decks across the room and knocking their opponents cards onto the floor. During sanctioned tournaments.
