When I went to Mont Saint Michel, I regrettably skpped the omelet. Seeing your video makes me doubly regret not going to Mere Poulard's. It was just too busy. By the way the French generally don't eat things like omelets, fried eggs, bacon for breakfast.

RDC: I would agree if you are there are lunch, it is too busy and the lines are too long. But if you are there for dinner, it is an exceptional experience. Cheers!

Looks like another one of those restaurants in France that hasn't moved on with times. I have been to quite a number of 'famous' restaurants in Paris where I was disappointed and found the French food (top restaurants though) I had in Sydney Australia was better. These days (even 10-20 years ago), the gastronomy theatrical experience should be from what's on the plate rather than from the person serving the dish. Desserts and pastries are where restaurants in France still have an edge, but the gap is narrowing. In today's digital age, information travels like it never has before and chefs learnt off from one another without even knowing the other person.

deeonelight: I agree...hard to top the French in terms of desserts. I also agree..this restaurant has stuck to it traditions but in a bad way. Your service standard has to be so much higher in than 30 years ago. 30 years ago, no one knew anything about wines and you only travelled once a year since airplane travel was so expensive. Now, many people have as much knowledge about food and wine as those in the restaurant industry so just assuming a diner will be impressed with pomp & circumstance is not enough. Cheers!

The place got favoured for years because he was one of Michelins untouchables,it highlights what a joke Michelin really is.

darrenburke: I wouldn't go so far as saying Michinel is a joke but it does highlight that Michelin looks for different things than consumers and every has their own opinion. I think it is important to go yourself to form your own opinions and not just rely on others to form your opinions. Cheers!

@@darrenburke9630 wow...sounds interesting. Again, I think Michelin is useful. I use it when I am going to new city. Maybe not for the star restaurants but definitely for recommended and Bib Gourmand, which I find a typically quite enjoy. I think it does give you a starting place when you have no clue where to eat in a city. I think they get it right more times than they get it wrong...they are typically great restaurants...just that value is not in the equation. Cheers!

Dim Sum and other food quality are horrible. Washroom is falling apart with wall papar coming off. Carpet needs washing. The first time I see a Chinese restaurant with an empty seafood tank meaning they can't afford to keep live seafood there.

silverfox: thanks for your comments. Huh...I didn't notice the carpets and washroom were that bad but will take a look next time. You do realize this is a Chiuchow restaurant so not really great dim sum restaurant, right? It is more for actual dishes rather than dim sum, which they have a small selection of. Cheers!

overviewconcepts: thank you for viewing my short. I do not purport to be an expert in Irish Coffee but just 2 points: 1/ just googling, the right porportion of milk to coffee is 1:4 to 1:6, which I believe was followed in this instance. 2/ the amount of milk will depend on the amount of sugar in the drink. One thing I didn't show and one thing most people do not allow you to do is control the amount of brown sugar in the drink. I put in more than normal and he had to adjust with more alcohol and milk to balance. Please like, subscribe and keep watching. Cheers!

Came here the other day for the second time. First time was brunch. We ordered a medium rare steak it came out well done. Sent it back, and the replacement looked only slightly better. At best medium well. Steaks didn't look like they had much of a sear either. Chewy, grey and not much flavor. Extremely disappointed. Also took about 30 minutes to get the first appetizer and another 20-30 for the mains. It wasn't a full house either.

I’m literally just over 4 minutes in having fast forwarded a few times and all I hear is pageantry and once in a lifetime if you don’t do this often, you’re literally making this an unpleasant experience. If you didn’t enjoy the restaurant then say so.

marion: no, it is not that I didn't enjoy the restaurant. It is I was disappointed in it. To be fair, it is a good restaurant, just not in my opinion a 2 star Michelin food wise but in terms of overall pageantry, it is spectacular. I think you would go once it your life just to say you have experienced it...and I could be totally wrong and someone else could totally enjoy the experience! That is the problem with fast forwarding..you don't get the entire context. I know my videos are rather dry so I totally understand why you fast forward but if you are looking for slick videos, sorry that is not this channel. Cheers!

michael: I was surprised I thought a 35 Euro was worth it! But it is truly an amazing experience with how they beat the mixture, then put in on the open file, cool and then serve it. I think it is better at night when they have more time to make each one. At lunch, it is crazy busy so they just pump them out and I can see how each one would not have as much attention. Cheers!

I appreciate the effort. As a peruvian who loves Lomo Saltado, it is that dish that gets me to be biased and love Suyo. Yeah, it is a bit too pricey. The customer service makes a huge difference.

Can you do a review on their tasting menu too? They have both tasting menu and main menu options. I tried both and their tasting menu is, to me, much better.

analytical: my wife did the lunch tasting menu and wasn't that impressed. So perhaps I need to try their dinner tasting menu. It is quite expensive so I trying to wait for a client to take me. Cheers!

The salmon wellington! Ermagawd. Soooo good. I have the discipline to bring home half for lunch the next day. The portions are that big. The appetizers are a letdown. The calamari is a great disappointment. The lobster oil I avoid because it's just not fresh. I wish they would pull up their socks a bit with the appetizers. Honestly though I would walk across hot coals for that salmon wellington and the lovely sides that are always the same and always delicious. I live very close which is a nice bonus.

i mean to be honest i don't think it's that hard to get over the colour?, if you drink or use milk everyday to make your coffee then you could definitely get over this! because the colour looks like straight up milk.
