Hi Carolyn, I watched your video in 2022 when preparing Angelo's scene with Isabella for the theater school in my country. I forgot to say thank you that year, so, better late than never, thank you very much! It helped me a lot digging in the reasons Angelo had to do and act as he did. Case you want to watch the result (spanish language) you will find it in this link at minute 21:40. Thanks again. Cesar. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oZ-ZdGCwmbCnh9U

I had heard and like to believe that this was Shakespeare’s last words at The Globe, and that his final ‘set me free’ would have sounded like an heartfelt and loud ‘goodbye!!’ I memorised my this in 2002 and still know it by heart.

Even though "The Tempest" wasn't his final play, a lot of people definitely see this as Shakespeare's "good bye" to theater and see a lot of him in Prospero. We like to think that as well!

Always interesting to hear how Shakespeare's roles can be interpreted, and this is a very fascinating play. Will look at the rest of the series.

Endless interpretations. It all comes down to textual analysis and direction. We love how different Shakespeare can be. Thanks for watching - enjoy!

"Many actors, similar to today, held down alternate employment, some of it not that reputable." HAHA! Don't exclude musicians from that too! Thanks Brian and Play by Play--this was another great episode.

Ha! Yes, musicians definitely included. Some things never change!

Thank you Carolyn for this deep dive! Your love of & enthusiasm for breathing modern day understanding into this dated text is more than remarkable, it's contagious. You look marvelous too! Many thanks for the performance (love the Wicked poster on the wall too)! A greeting from Berlin...
