Hey there! Thanks for the review, love the style and flair you showed with this wallet compared to other reviews if that makes sense haha. I was wondering, are you still carrying this wallet? And has the open and close clasp ever come loose by itself?

I own a ton of bags (I’m an addict) and watch bag reviews almost as much as the NFL but I have to tell you, this is one of the most genuine, comprehensive reviews of a bag I’ve seen. I bought this bag late last week, expect it this week, and am looking forward to it even more after your review. Really good review, thank you!

Once you go that tiny on an EDC blade 99% of users would be better served with a minimalist folding utility knife. The convenience of installing a 25cent replacment razor blade every few weeks is reason alone since most people either dont have the skills or equipment to resharpen a dull knife.

It’s been a minute since I’ve used this pack since I’m testing other ones, but comfort level is good. I would say if you’re wearing it all day without a break, your back will get really sweaty.

So great finally to see a review of the Default 25L!!! I had one for a long time in the Blackout Patchwork colorway, which is gorgeous. A few things. I do think the main flap is a bit too narrow, but after you have the pack for a while, you'll learn that you can bend those too big stow pockets toward the center, meaning that the flap has better coverage because more of those pockets are under it. But still, not optimal. The area behind the stow pockets is the *official* laptop space. Very big, but because of the possibility of water getting in, I put a small drybag over my laptop when it is in there. TOTALLY agree on the bottom pocket: a little more volume and it would've been SO useful. As is, it's barely capable of fitting my wallet, phone, and passport. One thing you didn't like about the pack is a reason many folks buy it: the lack of other entrance points into the main compartment. This is one of the very EDC-like packs out there with a totally waterproof--not water resistant--main compartment. There's not a seam or stitch or zipper to let water into that compartment. Even Mission Workshop uses seams on their main compartment. So if you add another access point, there goes the waterproof feature, which is one reason I bought it. I, too, wish there were a frame, but I found it comfortable. I did end up figuring out that the straps weren't the best shape for my body when I was carrying 25lbs or more in the pack, so I eventually sold it. But it's a really well built, unique pack, especially if you want something that's nearly a dry bag in terms of being waterproof while also having a good amount of quick-access features. Great review!!! PS--ILE is one of the few companies, like Goruck, that will honor the warranty of their packs whether you're the original owner or the 20th owner. I love that about them. As long as they recognize the pack as theirs, they'll take care of you. Speaks volumes to how confident they are in their products.

Pretty nice bag, not quite my style and a rolltop without a secondary access into the main compartment is something I can't get used to but ILE has some very good bags. I have an Apex Mini and Radius Mini from ILE and really like both of them. Both are very well made und super comfortable. I got the Apex Mini because its very light (about 500g I think) and quite packable so it can easily fit in my luggage or even a backpack (e.g. fits well into a Bellroy Apex when folded in half). Perfect daypack on trips, even fits my 14" laptop quite well.

Titanium flashlights are dumb. They get very hot, very quickly. I know this because that's the keychain flashlight I carry. It's great for short durations, but if you use it on high for long periods, the end gets very hot.

For anyone traveling AND staying at a hotel: Instead of taking a Roku (I use one at home), consider taking an Amazon Fire Stick instead if you'll be at a hotel. Why? For most hotel WiFi networks (definitely Hyatt and Hilton), they'll make you "sign in" through a web interface in order to activate WiFi on your device. If you've "signed in" for WiFi at a Starbucks, you'll understand. Roku's devices (to my knowledge) do not have a way to display the web interface in order to sign in. But the Amazon Fire Stick will display the WiFi web interface for you to use. You'll use the remote's directional keys to skip to the username and pw textboxes, and then you'll be joined to their network. Without that web interface coming up, you won't be able to join most of your portable streaming devices to the hotel network. I do realize that things change and perhaps newer versions of other devices might include this in the future - but for now, the Amazon Fire Stick will get you connected.

I prefer the inateck pouch. Love how that opens up like an origami and it's also roughly half the price too. I just bought one on prime day for £25, whereas this bellroy pouch with less compartments is for £55. Bellroy does over price a lot of it's stuff. Tomtoc is another great budget tech pouch and that company does a lot of stuff on a much more affordable price range

With the vertical front pocket I feel like if they had done it more closely like the CPL24, it would have been much better. For example the slip and zip pockets in there are too deep - they go all the way to the other side of the bag. If they had stitched them a bit closer to the zipper then they'd do a better job of controlling smaller items and preventing them from falling to the bottom. I also found that when the main compartment was fully packed, it created a kind of curve at the front so any smaller items that were loose (including keys on the key leash) would get trapped on the far side of that vertical pocket area, making them harder to retrieve. The front of the CPL is much flatter, so this doesn't tend to happen on that bag. Still, those are just minor tweaks I would make to the Daily Plus and I think it's a phenomenal bag. I prefer the aesthetics and feel of the CHZ22, so I ultimately chose that over the Able Carry. But definitely interested to see what AC comes out with next (it's been a while methinks!)
