Memorable match! This Czech team was seen as the golden generation of the Czech football. They should've become European champions that year, but were beaten by surprise by Greece, the later winner of this tournament. It might take a very long time before the Czech republic will have a team as this strong.

It's strange how the Czechs could lose to Ghana in 2006 with the same squad. The best squad ever witnessed to be from the Czech Republic, according to me. Sad for the likes of Pavel Nedved and Milan Baros.

CzechRep were the only team other than England who can honestly consider themselves unlucky they didn't win the Euro2004 trophy. Greece deserved the trophy though. It was only ever going to be Greece, England or CzechRep winning this tournament....yes you can say Sweden were pretty impressive in the group stages as well and only lost on pens/didn't officially lose a game in the tournament and scored a lot of goals in the group stage but going out to theNetherlands shows a big enough weakness for me to not be too convinced they would've gone all the way had they got through that lottery shootout because theNetherlands were not good in this tournament, 1 win in 5 games and that just being against Latvia, so yes Sweden scored a lot and conceded very few but the exit to theNetherlands albeit only on pens means they probably would've finished 2nd at best. I mean it wasn't even like they were robbed by theNetherlands like England were to the unconvincing hosts Portugal which was the only way England were ever going to exit this tournament taking everything into consideration.

The best football match of the Czech Rep I´ve ever seen. Who knows how long we will be waiting for the next match like this one. It´s a pity that we didn't win this tournament. However, Netherlands could have won this tournament as well.
