Bought a second user G90 this week. Amazing intuitive radio. First contact UK to Spain within 10 minutes, 59. Would highly recommend it.

It's a good radio, but stand it next to a Talkpod A36a with identical antennas( either a Nagoya 701, or Retevis equivalent), and watch which stations they receive. The Talkpod gets them all while the Tid does not. 🧐 Fact: the Talkpod has a more sensitive receive section.

Many items have a seal on them and if you break tune seal you lose your warranty. While you can float the stickers and replace them, it really depends on the manufacturer's policies. Perhaps working to identify the parts on the boards. I have the crossed internal swr meter from the same manufacturer and it has a power connector as well but all it powers is the light. I appreciate you taking it apart so i don't have to. We are given one right that other operators don't have, and that is the right to build stuff and put it on the air. Many people choose not to. This hobby is big enough for everyone.

3:03, the software I use is RT Systems. After using Chirp and the CPS, RT Systems is outstanding. Numerous things I can do with RT Systems which cannot be accomplished on the other software packages. Yes, RT Systems cost me $24, very well worth the price. YMMV

Kevin, one of the things I’ve learned in my POTA activations is that I can make 100W radio a QRP radio but I can’t make a QRP radio a QRO radio. These days I only take a 100W radio to my activations.

Kevin: Good for you for being patient and activating this park. This summer (2024) some days with the poor band conditions, activating a park has been a real challenge. On August 14, it took me one hour and 37 minutes running 80W at a park in SE Michigan to get 12 contacts and half of those contacts were park to park.

After the Russian and Chinese bombers decided to check out the views in Alaska I have begun planning for communications with my wife should we be apart when SHTF. After almost 2 weeks of research I am buying 2 TidRadio TD-H3 radios as the best choice without breaking the bank.

I'm a newbie to GMRS and ham...I have 2 TID h3's and 2 Ailunce hag1's . With extra batteries and Nagoya 771g antennas,as well as the ear piece mics and separate handheld mics...and I have found a few channels with really good information to help me learn ,and I am very appreciative for them...I also have other means of shtf comms..an old school analog marine radio with all north American and international frequencies and an old school handheld cb radio that I have used with a 6 foot vehicle antenna on a 1 story roof to make contact with a person from Alabama while I was in Coventry CT..but atmospheric conditions were perfect that day...thank you for your time and effort to educate the newcomers into the fold 👍👍. How did you program this radio for satellite (ISS) QSOs?
@WQ9FHamRadio
@WQ9FHamRadio 3 ай бұрын
I programmed VFO A to the uplink and VFO B to the downlink and then switched between them really quickly. It is not an ideal way at all to make a satellite QSO but it worked for me this time. 73! -Kevin

@@WQ9FHamRadio Thanks, I will give it a try. I think the problem is that with the squelch open all the way, the receive is picking up on the Uplink as well as the Downlink. I will work on getting a antenna for satellite operations.

I have a general license; I have 3 HF radios a Kenwood, a Yaesu and a Xiegu G 90 field radio, I have had 5 Baofeng's gave most of them away, I have 2 Quansheng; UV-K5's, a Yaesu dual band, a Anytone AT779 dual band/GMRS and now this TD-H3. I think, of the hand helds I personally like the H3 the best, thanks for the video, I need to give the ISS a try before they finally deorbit it. 73's🎙KD9OAM🎧

Great video showing all the ways to POTA during a contest-especially when QRP. I love my 705 and it was so easy to use coming from a 7300. It’s low power but super capable and a ton of fun, especially if you’re into weak signal modes on VHF/UHF.

It is really easy to use and honestly it is easy to travel with, I got a video coming up soon from Minneapolis with the 705 and I struggled hard with the QRP. But a day out struggling at radio is still better than a day at work lol! 73 -Kevin
