Thank you so much for this immaculate tutorial. I have just ordered this pattern and cannot WAIT to make it! Quick question - would sewing the sleeves in on the flat, before sewing sides, make much difference? I am an 'amateur beginner' and sewing and overlocking in the round can still be chaotic. Thanks again!

Hi, it is not possible to sew it in before closing the side seams because of the way the sleeve is created. But there is no gathering at the shoulder cap and in the instructions you will see that before overlocking you will sew the sleeve in with normal stitching. This way you don’t need to focus on keeping the fabric from shifting but can fully concentrate on getting the edge finished with the overlocker. I am sure that you can do it, just go calm and slow 😊

Nice tips & instructions--appreciate the "why" for the method & not just a "do this" step! Will look up your patterns now! Kind of wished to see a line drawing or picture of the finished garment, but understand you made this with the thought a viewer would already have that😅. Thank you!

I made this tee shirt yesterday and I love it! I’ve just learned to sew with knits in the past 6 months and it’s been a real learning curve. I have tried lots of different tee shirt patterns looking for the right shape and fit, and the Nora tee is now one of my top two patterns. I’m going to be making another one very soon.

Hi Susan, it is a kind of 100% cotton rib knit, since it's deadstock it's hard to give you a comparable fabric available. It has a 60% stretch amount, used a shorter neckband therefore. The pattern is designed for at least 30% strech. In genral I'd recomment to size up with a very low amount of stretch. Hope that helps :)

Hi, a linen would totally work. 👍🏼 it’s designed for wovens, but not too stretchy knit could also work.

Hi, the Nora has a fitted shoulder that should meet the shoulder point with the sleeve.

So sorry you feel that way. As Nora is a beginner sewing pattern, I do like to add those details at the beginning to help those who need more guidance. I get that more experienced customers might not need them, as them might have just one part where they like to have more guidance.

I just found your KZbin page! Thank you for your tutorials! I have a personal question……you stated your patterns are drafted for 5’8” as that is your height, is more of your height in your legs? You do not appear to be long waisted! Sorry if that is too personal!

Danke ☺️ Die genauen Angaben für den Zuschnitt vom Halsbündchen finden sich in der Anleitung beim Zuschnitt. Als Nählehrerin habe ich beobachtet, dass es vielen Anfängern hilft, wenn vordere und hintere Mitte gesteckt wird und dann die Knipse an der Schulter.
