Worked on my 2010 Toyota Sienna! I used WD-40 White Lithium Grease, which is thicker and will keep the door hinge lubricated longer. I also use it on squeaky door hinges at home and on noisy roof air vents. Thanks for the video, very much appreciated! Thank you for saving us $$$

I have that parallax adjustment ring issue on a new scope. It's under a 2-year guarantee, so I don't think I'll be the one fixing it, but this video has confirmed my understanding of the problem. And if the supplier sends me a new scope today without asking for my faulty one to be returned I can now work out how to slip the adjustment ring to make the original scope into a serviceable spare. Thanks for the video, it was exactly what I needed today.

My turret screws out of the scope and does not click anymore. Anyone know what to do?

Cover parts in Vaseline/jelly or tape off area you don’t want to ruin so you don’t have anything stick or bond to the wrong area . You can use baking soda to fill in the crevices make sure the cracks are filled properly and drop by drop add instant nail glue or clear epoxy is a good alternative let it cure fine sand and paint if need but that should make it stronger than it was before lol

Thank you!! I have a G17 pre-ban mag that looked exactly like yours. I gave it the same "procedure", and if it lasts me another 5,000 rounds, I'll be absolutely thrilled! I'm not sure where you're located, but I'm in MA (Yes. a genuine Masshole!), and G17 pre-ban mags are now selling between $160-$200, and that's if you can even find them! A great video!

I was given on of these shotguns for helping clean up an estate. I don’t see any indication of the choke of the barrel. It a conventional barrel without a poly choke. How would I be able to determine the choke?

What position is the spring in front supposed to be in? It flops back and forth but you never get back to proper position in the video.

Thanks for this video, like some others the lifter spring/lifter/throat assembly has given me problems - after rewatching a few times and seeing drhine6271's comment below I came up with an easy method to get it right with any of the available springs (I have seen 2 different springs for sale that look nothing like the one my rifle came with). Start with the spring installed on its pin. Leave the halves of the throat aside and install the lifter with its pin, engaging the notch on the spring (easy when the throat is not in the way). Install one half of the throat by sliding the pin far enough aside to let it in, keeping pressure on the lifter so it can't push up off of the spring. Then slide the pin the other way, install the other half of the throat, and finally install the roll pin holding the throat halves in place. Easy!

Great video. Do you lube (mild, heavy) the action and any suggestions for fixing failure to eject issues?
@TheShredBox
@TheShredBox Жыл бұрын
These originally came lubricated with “siliconized and polarized” oil, but any modern equivalent will do. Hoppe’s Elite or RemOil are good choices. Rub a lightly-oiled patch cloth across the contact points on the bolt before reinstalling it. No need to leave oil droplets in the action. Excessive oil in a blowback action will collect more fouling.
@TheShredBox
@TheShredBox Жыл бұрын
Failure to extract can be caused by a worn extractor or broken (worn out) extractor spring. Failure to eject can be from a worn ejector (on the sidewall of the receiver), or simply because of slow bolt velocity (a dirty action).

After about 50 attemps over 3 weeks finally got it. I put the roll pin in last, without the roll pin in you can lift up the magazine throat (both sides) so you can use a small screwdriver and slide spring into the notch . Then if you keep downward pressure on the lifter it will stay in place until you replace the magazine throat roll pin
@drhine6271
@drhine6271 Жыл бұрын
I believe some older models the notch on lifter is in different position that is why it is more difficult to line up

As a welder, I can tell why the cracks came back. You need more penetration. You have a steel insert on the back so you can penetrate deep without worry. You should have also squeezed the crack shut and then welded it. Put a nice fat bead on it. sand it down until it fits but try to leave as much as possible. If done right, the area will be stronger than it was before it cracked.

What this DS doesn't tell you is there is a little groove cut in the lifter that the top of the spring sits in. That's why it hard to get together.
