Question, what do you do after V1 if the plane will not rotate?
@badboyblue96754 күн бұрын
Yup but he must’ve thought he had to reject the take off Mistakes made and lives lost
@oldglory19445 күн бұрын
When a wing comes UP, it's the pilot that did it because he didn't stay X controled for the xwind roll out. Also took away the adverse yaw that supplemented directional control, hence going off left into the wind. Cheers. 60 yr TW CFI

Hello Fab, can One have Bombardier Global 7500 Flight control system converted to conventional flight control system (Mechanical flight control system ) ? Thanks You.
@BizJetTV8 күн бұрын
That is something that can be done but would take a very long time and cost a lot of money. Basically you need to talk to Bombardier and recertify the aircraft. It would be a BIG waste of money and time and Bombardier may actually not allow it. I recommend buying a Gulfstream G650ER, has same range as Global 7500 and traditional yoke.

Just like Rick Hendrick's son was on that plane and the pilot and a small plane and said it was too foggy and they told him if he didn't get him down for that race that morning at the Nascar race he would lose his job so he called his wife and told him he didn't feel safe doing it but he was going to do it because he loses his job and sure enough they crashed their plane and everyone died. They hit a mountain

Not this case but you reach V1 then VR 1500' down on a 12000' runway and loose an engine why in the world with 10500' left, would you now attempt a single engine take off and subsequent single engine Emergancy.

Slightly disappointed here in that this video is fundamentally an advertisement for Mr. Poli's book and training/consulting services. There is nothing wrong with using KZbin to advertise your services. When you are selling training; using somebody's fatal aviation accident can be a compelling argument. I came looking for hard evidence collected/based aviation specific information regarding the facts associated with this takeoff overrun accident. He is likely correct, a high speed abort that went wrong. At this point it is simply speculation.
@markmoran927216 күн бұрын
The guy uses the aviation death of 5 people to hawk his book and pitch his videos. Shameless. He also has no idea what happened in the cockpit that might have prevented him from taking off. Just speculation. Have some humility.

But... but... the drive around on the ground part was what I did for a living! (former landing gear engineer). With what little sense of self-worth I have remaining, I will meekly submit that aircraft are designed for both : )

The only thing that comes to mind is GUST LOCKS. in 2014 a GIV tried to takeoff in Bedford, Ma. It was gust locks.
@TommeoAndJuliet18 күн бұрын
Well the cause was aborting after V1 Why? That's the mystery for now. Maybe gust lock wasn't removed and controls were not free? Just a guess on my part. Cheers

Just an update, the survivor from the plane is the pilot's 18 year old son. There was only one rated pilot aboard and he did not survive.
@mxhusky530818 күн бұрын
This is correct.
@go273rivermiles8 күн бұрын
The survivor is actually the A/C owner's son. Whether or not the owner was PIC I don't know. Further, the survivor actually walked out of the fire with little more than singed hair and a mild burn to one of his cheeks. One of the auto drivers on scene took a video of the young man emerging from the fire.
@igclapp8 күн бұрын
@go273rivermiles Spencer, the owner, was the only rated pilot on board. So he must have been PIC.

I haven't even seen 1/3rd of this and agree about being focused / safety, I have just returned home after a (feels like gruelling) drive between UK and Praha CZ. we had crossed back iinto CZ and 1hr ffrom home when my daughter said we needed to change drivers as I had slowed to a granny speed. In truth I was focussing on the conversations we were having and not focussed on the driving which is exactly my response to her; rest of the drive was in silence to allow safe focussed driving. (amazing how easierly we can distracted at the most important tiimes) [lets not talk about the safety from hands free phone calls, it's just not; phone goes off or ignored while in any car] FYI I don't fly but wishing I could edit: above statement still stands, however I'm now at 30:59 and what comes to mind is Stockton Rush.............................. so no more

It shouldn't be that hard to switch runways. He backed himself into the corner with fuel. If you're ever in doubt, get gas. He said New Orleans wasn't available because of weather? Baton Rouge, Beaumont, Lafayette, Gulfport, Mobile all were down for weather? Even if it behind you, I'd rather do that then be on the news.

I am not a pilot so I am wondering can a hondajet reverse thrusters and how effective are they
@igclapp18 күн бұрын
It doesn't have thrust reversers.
@Igotstaknowit20 күн бұрын
Is there anything at the end of these runways to slow down a jet once it gets off paved surface, such as gravel traps as used in F1 and drag racing? Catch fencing? I know these ideas may sound silly and no fencing system could be useful for larger jets, but something of this size? Too big a risk of shearing off wings?
@igclapp18 күн бұрын
There is something available called EMAS. It's installed at some airports like Telluride but not at this one.
@marcmcreynolds282716 күн бұрын
Think of it as "very weak concrete" or "very strong styrofoam". The aircraft's landing gear penetrates through the surface of it and the resulting drag of the shock struts crunching through it stops the aircraft relatively quickly.
@robav8or20 күн бұрын
We don’t yet know whether there was an issue preventing the pilot from rotating (ie: Jambed controls).

5000' is plenty of runway? That is relatively short for a loaded light jet takeoff. Very little margin for error....especially with AZ temps.
@igclapp18 күн бұрын
It is plenty if you follow the procedures. The plane should have been in the air in 2,500 feet and balanced field length was about 4,300 feet.
