I remember I had this tape of the Latin Rascals absolutely MURDERING some breaks! I know they was on some Serrato type ish even back then! But no lie! That was the BEST break beat tape I ever had! Them and Chuck Leonard had the city on🔥🔥🔥 that Saturday night! Mad heads was out! ALL playing 98.7 Kiss! The only thing I seen close to the same was when Mr Magic had RUN DMC live at the Appollo on 107.5 BLS! Man listen! You can be on the "New York blah blah ish" if you want🤷🏿 But if you wasnt around back then to witness those classic times! You REALLY missed out! Big Time! Shouts to all my old school real hip hop heads that was at them jams from like '78-'85! From the BX! To Shaiolin! Back thru BK! Queens! Westchester! Long Island! CT and Northern NJ! (YUP! They was doing it out there too!🎉🎉) This is OUR music! No matter how far it go NYC will always be the Mecca of it All! IYKYK!🫡💪🏿✊🏿👍🏿🎉🎉🔥🔥🤷🏿✅️💯💯💯💯

The DMV got their GO GO!🫡🎉 Chitown got their house!🫡🎉 West Coast got that Low Rider P funk on smash!🫡🎉 And the dirty got their Bass music🫡🎉 ALL on smash from back in the day! Respect!✅️💯 But ONLY us from the East Coast-Tri State area from Philly up thru Jersey! NYC! Long Island! Westchester and CT can TRULY understand what's going on here! Real talk! Others knew! Respect! But a DJ get up and start ripping some break beats we lose our minds like no other way😉🫡🤷🏿💪🏿✊🏿👍🏿🎉💯💯💯💯 Got me out in FOX Street Park right now! IYKYK!!!

This was a great era for Dancehall, but what bothers me the most is their allegiance to these political parties and leaders who exploited their gifts and kept them in poverty. Black people are always being exploited, mistreated and used to maintain white supremacy. Sadly, there are many and willing participants who don’t see how they’re being used.
