I wanted to say thanks. I just finished the first fluid swap since buying the kart off the lot and got curious how other people were tackling the transmission fluid fill situation. I'm glad I found your clip because I put the whole liter of fluid in the transmission, which filled it to the bottom of the fill port! Heard you say 750ml and double-checked the manual. Sure enough, 750ml or 25oz was correct. NOT the whole liter. Just finished draining 250ml back out of the transmission. :) It's not too often you find a side fill port that you DON'T fill to the bottom of the hole...

You need to put 26 pound valve springs in too factory valve springs can't take higher rpm ncy has them I used a 13 cam in mine

I have a taida 28.5/24 head and 61mm jug that’s going to be going on it. I talk about it briefly in the video. Colonel Mustard on my channel has an A13 in it.

Will do. It’s my understanding these motors will be fine with either the taida, ssp or ncy 61mm drop in bbks. I went taida because they offered bigger valves and a domed piston. My concern right now is that I’m hearing these motors have a longer stroke. I’m not sure if I’ll have clearance issues with the domed piston.

Mine has the same issue as you described. The price of a new starter was quoted by our dealer for $779. Insane. The PSB from kubota was issued in 2020, and despite having a 2020 unit we purchased new in 2021, mine did not qualify. I will repair and sell this piece of crap. I'm done with kubota.

I've learned that the dealer is one of the most important decisions you can make. The dealer should reach out to Kubota for you. The area Kubota reps have funds they have been allocated to help customers with during certain situations. I called multiple dealers and finally found two that were willing to help. One was out of state which was a different area. The other was able to help me get the starter covered. They had to put a request in with Kubota and it was approved.

I’ve been really enjoying watching your hammerhead content, maintenance and upgrades. Potentially looking at getting one soon and seeing everything up close through your videos has been very helpful, thanks!

Thanks, appreciate that! Keep an eye on the used market and look for a platinum that’s been sitting. Usually you find them cheaper with carb issues. You’ll want a 26mm carb anyways. It’s an easy swap and will save you some money.

@@farmfixesandfun I’d love to get a used one for cheaper, as long as the engine was maintained properly, that’s my biggest concern. As far as I can tell, if buying new, it has to come already assembled from some kind of dealer, which costs extra on top of the msrp + tax + whatever other fees they tack on. No way to buy the kart in the crate, and do the final assembly yourself like I’ve done with the cheap Chinese buggies in the past. Getting a used ASW Carbide would be pretty cool too. What’s your opinion on the Trailmaster xrx 200? All these karts look 95% the same, even the same frame design and welds, especially on the rear swingarm, but it seems that the hammerhead may have a higher quality gy6, maybe higher quality metal for the frame, etc? I do like the fact that hammerhead added an oil cooler and filter for their engines. Cheers!

@@Vlad_Portnov are you planning to mess with the engine at all? I like the Hammerheads better than the Trailmasters. Parts are easy to find and I find the fit and finish better. The Kandi I have can be a pain to find parts for. In my fleet, the Hammerheads are more nimble and peppy where the Kandi is better offroad.

Eventually I’d like to buy the nicer cylinder head like you showed and the upgraded piston I’ve seen on hammerhead performance. Probably not the 170cc upgrade though, so I don’t have to mess with boring the crankcase. I’ve had the same issues on getting parts for the cheap x-pros we have. We’re in a neighborhood so it’ll be driven on roads for the most part, at least for now. I’ll likely get some sunf road tires and a second set of rims to start. Then, the intake and exhaust upgrade from hammerhead that you installed.

Kubota will quickly lose the interest of the public when they learn that you have to replace the starter every 100 hours. My xg 850 sidekick of 2021 is the farm vehicle with the highest maintenance cost per hour by far of all the vehicles I owned. Reconsider buying this crap.

At this point ours has had the headgasket gasket and starter replaced along with regular maintenance. All were under around 100 hours but outside of warranty as we don’t use that often. We have had a weird stumble which we found there is a psb for an ecu replacement. I’m learning dealer choice is as important as brand choice. Our dealer should have been on the ball with all of these issues. I’m looking at another 600 for the ecu to fix the stumble.
