Mitsuo, despite being a secondary villain and having little relevance in Persona 4's plot outside of his own arc, serves his role well as a character. His role conveys a clear message: taking refuge in fiction and avoiding reality is unhealthy. This is reflected in how he perceives the world as if it were a JRPG, treating life and his actions mechanically and detachedly, without taking real responsibility.

I can't listen to this without crying. My uncle gifted this to me when I was only 12. It wasn't a game I was interested in playing, and I never made it past the second colossus. But the few musical scores that I heard while playing never left my memory. My uncle is no longer with us, and to this day I regret getting rid of the copy of Shadow of the Colossus that he gifted me out of wanton indifference for what it was. I didn't understand what I had been given.

Persona 4 is without a doubt the most definitive Persona game. It explores the Jungian themes that drive the series with the characters confronting their proverbial and literal dark sides that they didn't even know they had. But once said dark sides rear their ugly heads and preach the bitter truths that pervade the games themes, they instinctively go into denial which provokes the obligatory boss fight. Unlike most examples of facing your inner darkness, it's the acknowledgment of your evil capacity instead of rejection that helps you overcome said darkness. Much like the Samurai Jack episode where Jack fights an evil clone Aku created from his hissy fits against bounty hunters ruining his day. It isn't till after the boss fight where the protagonists get over the shock of the bitter truth about their personal flaws and acknowledge their capacity for evil that is as natural as the moon is to the sun that they become better humans.

Shadow Teddie was a joke, but when I got to this fucker, I was having a stroke by seeing all my party's mp getting depleted, also I accidentally changed Yukiko's Media to Diarama. After 20 minutes of battling this dude and seeing his fucking bombs hit everytime I died beacuse Yu remained the only one standing and he and the boss were one fucking hit away from dying, after my kill attempt when to shit he attacked and I had to do it all over again. I had to farm another level for Yukiko to give her Mediarama and then I beat his fucking ass. Shadow Mitsuo and Shadow Kanji where the only bosses that gave me trouble. But goddamn the kill on these 2 were satisfying.
