I have tried something real similar and the plastic ALWAYS came off the fabric but later what i did is i would print a few layers, then put the fabric down and make suee to use a fabric like what u used... then id offset my z slightly and then print more layers on top. Oh it seems u did the same thing i saw after i watched the rest I also done this with tshirts by cutting some small holes in the shirt, well poking a pencil through. I used tpe on those which actually bonded to polyester pretty good

Yeah I found the fabric definitely needs to have "small" holes in it. I have tried more 'solid' fabric and it won't stick or stay stuck:(

Did you have issues with the nozzle getting caught on the fabric?
@3dpmom10 ай бұрын
Not if I have the fabric pulled slightly taunt and secured in place with tape 👍🏼

I did it on my printer and it worked. I would like to know how you put the fabric parts together and fix them to the clothes?

Thanks :) I didn't think it's possible to use such a big holed mesh, nice to see it is!

So cool. What’s the fabric have you used that works? And did you buy it special from Amazon or something.
@3dpmom10 ай бұрын
I used a mesh fabric off Amazon (search for “Annies Lightweight Pewter Mesh Fabric LTWT 18x54, 54 Inches”). Similar fabrics can be found in your local fabric stores:) I would not recommend tulle because it tears easily.

This is awesome! Do you think there’s a limit on how fine the mesh can be before printing issues?
@3dpmom10 ай бұрын
I think the mesh can be pretty fine. I've experimented with different sizes and as long as the filament has "holes" in the mesh to print through and adhere to the layer beneath the mesh it seems to work:)

Great job. I'm glad to hear a fresh voice on KZbin, with a fresh idea for printing on fabric (not just the typical dragon scales). I immediately thought how nice it would be to incorporate this into a custom crochet or knitted project. Keep up the work, and good luck with your channel.
