How are the V730s on the street compared to the V601s? Also how the heck is that Audi keeping pace with you in the corners?
@GoDriveMX515 күн бұрын
@@jackwicker if you need outright grip than it's worth it over the 601, but the 601 felt great, just with a lower threshold of grip. I just bought a second set of wheels so I don't plan on running the 730s on the street much anymore. The Audi is driven by quite a good driver, and it's modified to be rather quick in the corners. On roads with flowing corners like this he can usually give me a run for my money. It's the tight stuff where the Miata shines.

Nice drive! How satisfied are you with the power of the base 981 coming from the ND? I’ve got an ND1 and I’m looking to make the switch to a 981 soon, though I’ve kind of assumed I’d need an S.
@GoDriveMX5Ай бұрын
@@damoderndance my ND has never been driven at anything below 5k feet in elevation and the 981 was mostly at sea level so not apples to apples. The 981 had way better throttle response and the engine felt racier than my ND2. But it's still pretty slow overall. I'd say if your looking for a decent boost of performance get a S, the base still feels like a momentum car

Awesome Vid! I'm looking into getting an ND3 Sport ST as well (Club BBR seems to be too much $$$$) and build it similar as yours: OSG Diff, Wilwood 4/6 pistons up front (can't get the Stoptech C43 kit anymore), rotors/pads in the rear, lighter wheels, tyres, sways, alignment....wondering how I can get in contact to pick your brain on the setup. how does this compare to the ND? looks a bit sluggish on turn in but kinda hard to tell from video
@GoDriveMX5Ай бұрын
@@Ellie-rp3fw Great eye. It definitely doesn't have the same grip as the ND on turn in. You have to be patient and let the weight move over there. But it has mid corner and exit traction once you get it loaded up. I'd say because of that though it's more confidence inspiring. The ND I'm constantly aware the rear end might slide out. None of that in the Porsche.
@Ellie-rp3fwАй бұрын
@@GoDriveMX5 yeah always surprises me how willing to oversteer the ND is, it looks fun but kinda surprising for whats otherwise a calm car. I think with a couple of suspension upgrades + 200tw tires the 981 has a ton of potential but obviously it comes at a pretty huge cost
