06/24/24 - THE REAL #1 RECRUIT, AND IT IS NOT STRONG. A South Carolina incoming freshman and a Gamecock target in the class of 2025 led Team USA to the U18 AmeriCup championship. Joyce Edwards was a starter, the team's captain, and the leading scorer in the tournament. She was named the AmeriCup MVP for her strong showing. Jazzy Davidson was also a starter (despite still being in high school for another year) and was one of the most versatile players (along with Edwards) in the entire competition. Team USA beat Team Canada in the championship game after blowing out Brazil, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Argentina along the way.

I guess it depends on your definition of a good year. This year with the tool surrounding her is not gonna have to carry the team like she did last year. Everything revolved around juju last year this year you’re gonna see her develop into an all-around player she’s not gonna need to score the most points in the country. She’s gonna have that many tools you’re gonna see her develop as a true leader. If you watched her press conference after they lost a Y UConn I guarantee you she was in the gym that same day that girl is a winner.

In all due respect, first is the "I can't see you," was not for HVL! Even HVL is admitted that it was not towards her, but it was with an asst coach. I've also coach men and women during the 80's and 90's where physical play was a norm. We have what we call a physical play and dirty play. What was done is definitely a dirty play. The ball was not even in play, which should have been an ejection. Yes, she talks trash like everyone else. But you are not understanding that it was a dirty foul shows you as partial. Again, during that time when MJ played, physical and hard foul is a norm. But when it becomes a dirty foul, then a fight erupts. They know when someone crosses the line. This Chicago player crossed the line. AGAIN, we are asking fair and even calls, not that she be given a privilege. Sorry your opinion sucks!!!

All those plays are involving game play. The Chennedy Carter foul on Caitlin was not the same. It was totally a vicious, off ball foul. So the amount of coverage WAS justified because this is NOT part of the game, and has NOT been going on since the inception of the WNBA. If you tell a story, tell the WHOLE story

any referee with a small salary in sports will not really be able to be strict with fouls,maybe it's time for the Wnba to increase the salary of the referees and be like college basketball referees in how strict their referees are, so we can't blame the referees who are lazy to call fouls on the WNBA players because their wages in the WNBA are small .. compared to college basketball!! Referee in college is really strict, just a little word or gesture will call you a foul so the college basketball league can be compared to the NBA really .. and the WNBA can be compared to a street game that is better without a referee..

It is still a crime that is excused by ignorant and immoral people who excuse bad behavior. I have practiced martial arts since 1965 and we have better ethics than most other sports. There are fouls in sports that come from action during play. What happened to Clark was not during play and was behavior that one would be arrested for in any other context. The ultimate judge is the Creator of the universe, not the sports organizations. I am also an ordained minister. God"s law is the supreme law and we will all answer to His standards. When you arrive at the judgement throne of God, you can offer your reasoning there and say, "But the WNBA or other sports organizations said it was okay." Good luck with that. It would be good not to learn your moral ethics from a sports organization's warped thinking.

I can't speak for USC, but Geno is very clear about what he wants and it boils down to bringing in players who want to play at UConn. I think Hannah was the best freshman last season. Nothing against JuJu, she is amazing but she also had a 44+% usage rate. JuJu scored more per game but Hannah scored more per 'turn'. Hannah was also more efficient, a much better defender (and JuJu is not an anverage defender), and she makes Notre Dame near impossible to puressure. If with the new talent some of the load is taken off JuJu and she adapts to that she could have a banger year even if she doesn't score as many points, she'll be much more efficient and her other numbers could come up. JuJu for all her amazing skills does have a big weakness, she is not strong with her off hand. If she hasn't worked on that in the offseason expect her to be pushed to drive left. She does a good job of finishing with the wrong hand but nonetheless it is something that can be exploited defending her.

Every award that juju won last year regarding being freshman of the year disagrees with you. Does it not say something that juju had a high usage rate because her teemates were significantly worse than what Hannah had? I watched 3 Notre Dame games last year. Hannah does not get gameplanned for like Juju does. Literally when they come to screen her they blitz her thats all i see. Juju would literally be the other teams entire defensive gameplan. Hannah also disappeared when ND needed her most. You talk about jujus efficiency like Hannah didnt shoot 43% to Jujus 40% with juju averaging 5 more shots. Hannah is a better defender than Juju that is literally all she has on her

@@JeffreyAguirre-gg5zm I am certainly no going to argue that JuJu is not a great player or that she didn't deserve the awards she got. Also, if you've seen JuJu on podcasts or sports shows she is 100% a class act. When you talk about 'best', 'MVP', 'PoY', you are being subjective. There is only one single stat with objective importance and that is final score. That score is a team score. So, you aren't 'wrong' for thinking JuJu was the best, howeve others aren't wrong for thinking Hannah is, or Fulwiley who does not get the credit she deserves due to SC's style and depth. Honestly from a pure basketball perspective I'm not sure Fulwiley wouldn't be the first name mentioned if she played on a different team.

@@colpul2103 your point only further proves my point. Notre Dame is an established program same with South Carolina. Notre dame was coming off of back 2 back sweet 16 appearances . USC hadn't made it past the round of 32 in 20 years. They hadn't won the pac12 championship in 10 years. Juju took a team that finished 12-16 last year to their first elite 8 in 30 years. Usc had 2 recruits last year including juju and now they have the #1 recruiting class and they grabbed the #1 transfer player because what? They wanna be jujus teemate.
@colpul2103
@colpul2103 12 күн бұрын
@@JeffreyAguirre-gg5zm And those are good arguements to why you think she's the #1 freshman. I think only scoring 27 pt/gm with a 44+% usage rate is why she is #2. I also feel like you can't presure ND BECAUSE of Hannah and that is important to my rankings. To me a player and double so a point guard are more than just stats. Hannah makes teams pay for presure, manages the game pace, gets everything out of her team, and her plus/minus is pretty telling how important she is to the team. But really, it is OK that you have JuJu as your #1, she is a very good player and a beast who will win lots of awards and with in the next couple years will be the face of the NCAA Women's Basketball like Clark was this last season.

I do think that some of JuJu’s stats may go down, particularly rebounding, but honestly I think she’s going to come back better. She’s already been talking about improving defensively and her efficiency. I expect her to get more steals and I expect her to make more shots. I think they are going to find better ways to get her the ball compared to this last season. Plus, she doesn’t seem like a player that sits back and waits for the ball. I think she’s still going to be under that basket right along with KiKi looking for a rebound or a block.
