I have been married for 33 years. I still have my original diamond wedding set. It doesn't fit at this time. Moisanites are beautiful. As long the man is honest about it not being a diamond and the woman is ok with it, then that is what counts!

Love your story and your lovely positive personality. My grandfather bought my grandmother a cute dainty art deco ring with small diamonds as her engagement ring...and when the band wore thin on the inside, he would buy her another one. They have since passed and I have two of them that I cherish. I love that story and think it is so sweet. When you don't spend a ton of money on a ring, he can buy you more rings! ;) haha. But I personally love the idea of moissanite because like you said, less worry, and you can spend the rest of that money on memorable experiences and life together.

Such a great list! I'm getting married this year with just my partner and 12 guests in Vegas. No bridal party at all, no flowers, no favors, no cake, no dance. Just a 20 min ceremony in a chapel, followed by lunch at an amazing restaurant. We're going to see a show afterwards. I really like your idea of skipping the ring exchange part of the ceremony. We both already wear our rings so we don't necessarily need to take them off just to exchange them again on the day. P.S. yes, the money dance is cultural/regional. It isn't a practice that's common across all weddings. I've only seen it once at a Hispanic wedding.
