Fripp would not say this is a "documentary." It's more a jam, wit Andy, man. Peace on earth.

The original Knitting Factory on Houston was magical, so many great concerts in such a short span it's still hard to believe. You could go any night of the week and potentially have your life changed.

been listening to Derek Bailey for more than ten years now and i still can't decide if i like what he does or not. i just listen to what he plays, and im always coming back to it, but i (still) couldnt say if im into it or if i hate it. props to the man for having done what he did. we need to keep in mind people like Fred Frith (Henry Cow), Jim O'Rourke among others were shown a different way to approach the guitar thanks to this dude.

If you’re a jazz fan, try Futuristic Sounds of Sun Ra or Languidity and say the same thing. Yeah some of the farther out stuff is not for everybody but those are pretty traditional and should “swing for” ya if nothing else.

I don't fully understand why David Murray talks about representing music of his time. Ornette Coleman was playing free jazz back in the 50's

What a beautiful spirit and philosophy. Sun ra has done as much for music as miles or coltrane in my opinion. Some people dont take him as seriously because he doesn’t fit their paradigm but that’s exactly why he’s so important. He pushed boundaries as much as any musician I can think of and open doors for future generations to explore further than perhaps they would’ve without him paving new paths. 🙏 sun ra legacy
