Great video man. I live in Cape Coral and well water is terrible. Our water bill is 150, electric is 200, 2k annually on insurance on a newer home but only 0.53 percent for property taxes. Polarizing Politics, summer heat, and lack of natural resources (trails, lakes, etc) other than the ocean are the biggest drawbacks. Embracing the ocean life is a blast, but quite pricey owning boats and camping on barrier islands. I’m really looking into WA, as we are from Pittsburgh which is the second gloomiest place in the US!! That is the difficult part, going from 300 days of sun to 150, it can wreck your mood for the first few seasons as I’ve done that move twice in my life.

Seattle is really two things. You have downtown big city Seattle, which includes pioneer square which is kind of cool but that's where all the homeless are now. And you have Seattle suburbs. Most people live in the suburbs. They never venture into the city. Some do because they work there. But most people don't venture into the downtown anymore and that includes pike place market. Now keep in mind this is a metropolis now and has been for years. Like the San Francisco Bay area it's many cities that comprise one gigantic city. So part of Seattle? Sort of. You can live in a really nice place and a really nice town and have nothing to do with Seattle. I live in an awesome place in Pierce county next to the second largest city in Washington. It's very nice and problems are rare. I could be in Seattle in 50 minutes if I fly up I-5. We never go there. If I do I'm armed to the teeth.

Try stating the laws. They have to be there more than 30 days in most cases, so checking on your property more often will keep them from being considered squatters, just trespassers.

I moved out to Seattle from New York back in 1987 lived there through the 90’s, I’ve seen the good times of Seattle, then moved away when it soon went down hill. Right now I’m currently living in Europe and enjoying it.

It depends where you live in Washington, sure if you live in a major metro area the cost of living is high, but move away from the Seattle/Bellevue/Tacoma area and the cost of living is lower.

A recent study found that half of working adults in Seattle make 50K or less a year. They are hit hard by the expense stemming from the tech boom, as are small businesses.
