What would you do if the neck is bigger like 30 st around??
@jesshuffco
@jesshuffco 10 күн бұрын
A dowel that is 6 st fewer around than the neck should work every time. So if the neck is 30 st around, I’d make a dowel that is 24 st around: 01. start 6 sc into a Magic Ring [6] 02. inc in each st around [12] 03. *sc, inc* 6 times [18] 04. sc, inc, *sc 2, inc* 5 times, sc [24] 05 - 10. sc in each st around [24] Begin stuffing. Add additional stuffing every ten rounds. 11 - 37. sc in each st around [24] 38. sc, dec, *sc 2, dec* 5 times, sc [18] 39. *sc, dec* 6 times [12] Finish stuffing. 40. *dec* 6 times [6] Close with an Ultimate Finish.

On the next rounds, i noticed that my white is more towards the left leg than the right one, instead of it being centered. Is it supposed to happen? Please, if you could, help me because i am starting to feel frustrated bc it is 1:30 am and i had to redo this and still it is like this if you look at it from the front (the b and w aren'ta specific number, this is just a description of my penguin's base atm): Bbbbbwwwwwwwwwwwww Bbbwwwwwwwwwbbbbbb Ffffbbbbbgffffbbbbbb B- black W- white F- foot 😭😴

Do you have the attached head video? In the PDF pattern there is a link for the attaching of the head, but it does not work and I cannot find it on your page.

Thank you so much for showing the set up/counting off stitches. The books always have the instructions but its helpful to visualize the "set up" steps since i think its a little bit more advanced.

This is very good. I do *almost* the same thing. I finish the round with Color A just as you did (making the 'fake' stitch). But, I start the new round (Color B) a couple/few stitches to the right of the fake stitch, and crochet around. There is not so much as a hint of a dip in the stitch.

When single crocheting across the top, are you going into the front loop only? Hard to tell in the video, but that’s what it looks like?

2:03 what about the mane on the zebra? I don’t see anything other than a short note on the pattern… it would be nice to know where it is recommended to start, finish…. How wide to make it… how to get the yarn to stand up like a Mohawk….

This method would save you SO much hassle and it's so simple and clean/tidy looking. One thing about this way, though, is if the limbs are heavy and it's played with a lot and dragged around by the arms, I'd worry that the single row of stitches holding them on wouldn't be strong enough.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to show us this!! ❤❤❤ It may be just what i was looking for. I've seen patterns with what appeared to be a neck crocheted to a long tapered point (it probably was) and the bottom of the head crocheted sort've concave into a tapered hole that goes on top of the pointy neck. The neck po and head hole have to be the same shape and I didn't know how to do that. I didn't realise (at least i dont think so) that it may actually have been a crocheted dowel. Genius! 👩‍🎓 LOL! I literally typed "crocheted pointy neck for head attachment Amigurumi" in my search. I abhor sewing, but especially trying to afix the head to the neck (and arms and legs to the body 🤯) 'cos Im a perfectionist and it has to be perfect, but i do the best i can. I'm going to give this a try for my the time, and if this works...no more untidy neck/head attachments 👏👏👏 I'm also going to try the "loose stitches around and *_then_* pulling them tight technique"...all these years making Amis and Ive never tried or seen this before. Very clever, thank you! 😊
