Hi Bruno

So bottom line, what is the cost of this fantastic build.
@bmsprecision2 ай бұрын
@@mikesantti5648 hi Mike, well it depends on what you make the heads of, considerado this, full v2.4 kit, 2 extra motors for lift arm, about 3.5m of 2020 frame, 2 drivers, 350w extra PSU, 3 spools os filament. Then the heads, stealth changer itself hardware is cheap like 20 Bucks per head then you have can bus board, extruder, fans, hotend. You can go from 85-90 bucks per head if you go ebb36, BMG extruder, cheap v6 hotend like mine and GDSTime ball fans. Up to whatever if you go with fancy hotends and extruders. Food thing is you can Stuart with just one head and increase the as you want/can
@clint.johnson2 ай бұрын
Question for you, I assume you are using printed liftbar gears. I have started accumulating parts and printing parts to do this project but those plastic gears seam to be a likely point of failure. Any idea if they could be machined from the models using PCBWay or a similar shop, or do you know if such metal gears exist already in the market?
@bmsprecision2 ай бұрын
@@clint.johnson hi, well yes I'm using printed gears but I did some testing before the build and with a single gear printed in ASA, moving 6kg up and down on a jig I made for 5days, day and night at highest speed I could... After that I disassembled it and zero sign of wear, I mean ZERO Now in the build its 2 gear boxes and the weight is 2kg. I think it will be fine. I could machine the gears myself but I saw no need

Be amazing if you could just do a pre loaded filament nozzle swap using this system instead of a whole head change. I guess you'd need an extruder with an open front end where the gears would open during loading then close around the filament.
@bmsprecision2 ай бұрын
nahhh, toolhead change is the way to do it, specially if you work with multimaterials so you don't have cross contamination and less purge. if you want filament swap there are other solutions like ERCF or TradRack. here is about speed, cross contamination on different materials and reliability.

Why not make a new mount for the EBB36 that sits higher. That solves the spacing issue. And it is the least amount of work.
@bmsprecision3 ай бұрын
I was trying to avoid that because I need one of each color and in the end I managed to make it work but yeah it would be the second best solution... best would be the smaller PCB, next would be modifying the mount and last modify the extruder spacer.
@TruWrecks3 ай бұрын
The carbon fiber layers for the printer bed is a bad idea. It will not heat evenly, and it will delamenate after several heat cycles. Also, carbon fiber is a better insulator than conductor. It will prevent a lot of heat transfer to the build plate.
@bmsprecision3 ай бұрын
yeah, the guy seems to be set to make that mistake, I forgot the heat eveness its also another setback... thermal conductivity and degradation with heat are good enough reasons already.... I told him its a BAD idea from the beginning but... thanks for the input!
