It's from the album, "With My Lover Beside Me" released several months into 1991. Music by Barry Manilow and Lyrics by Johnny Mercer. I must give credit to Eddie Arkin, co-producer next to Barry, who made the album possible. Nancy LOVED the idea for an album when it was presented to her as she was looking for an album to make. In the liner notes of the album, Nancy starts off with talking about Barry and Eddie saying, "Gentlemen of the Highest Order,". This was a poem Johnny wrote which became the first piece that Barry put music to during a long run of shows in California at the very end of 1983. He debuted it there and gave an audience a performance of it on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. Well, Nancy's album contains the writings of Mr. Mercer never musicalised until Barry accepted a stack of lyrics in a manila envelope given to him by Ginger Mercer, widow of Johnny. A little more: Nancy made an appearance on The Arsenio Hall Show to promote her album and Barry showed up unexpectedly. Oh Nancy was thrilled. "This is really his album," she commented. ♥️🎤🌹

I just saw him in Livermore, too! I introduced him! Yes I was thrilled to see him play this - he doesn’t always, he lays everything out there, doesn’t he? I couldn’t believe he played an encore after that… the guy continues to amaze!

We were there. Great time. It is when we found about Tab Benoit and Ruthie Foster. Danielle Nicole from Trampled Under Foot was Airlifted off the Eurodam vis a USGC Chopper. Johnny Winter doing Highway 61. Taj Mahal and his cooking skill. GOOD TIMES!
