That's a good question. I'm not sure if the municipality has a special protocol for this area. Typically in Turkey there are a lot of dumpsters (never have to walk very far to throw away trash) and trash is collected regularly. There are also a number of disadvantaged people who sort through the dumpsters in search of recyclable or useful material.

Yes, I think so. I drove as a solo female traveler and didn’t have any issue. I got a SIM card so I could use the GPS on my phone. I wouldn’t drive in Istanbul because it’s too crowded and parking issues etc. But if you’re traveling to the coastal regions, a car is the best way to go. If you’re going long distances, it might make more sense to fly and then rent a car.

I personally choose larger agencies that are internationally known as they're more reliable and the cars tend to be in better shape, more support if something goes wrong, etc. Depending on the time of year you're going, you could book at the airport itself. Or, you could book online beforehand. I would go directly with the agency from their website (i.e. Enterprise, Hertz, Budget).

Which area in Istanbul sells those SIM cards from turkcell or turk telecom as I could not find those prices I'm here 20th August 2024 ? All of the stores are telling me 1200 lira for the cheapest SIM card and I have been to about 7 different official stores of both turkcell and turk telecom ?

Hi i hope i would get an answer I’m planning on visiting Istanbul in October and I’m in the process of doing my Visa and I can’t finish the payment. It comes with an error message. I contact my bank and the embassy still the same thing nothing I can do.

I'm not sure specifically for citizens of Pakistan. Most of the time, supporting documents would include flight/hotel reservations, copy of passport, and whatever else the system requests.

I've never experienced hostility or felt uncomfortable from shopping in the bazaar. I think it's best to avoid shops where salespeople are being aggressive/pushy, but I wouldn't say it's dangerous.

We have heard mixed responses to the new design. It actually was designed to reflect what the tower looked like in the past. "In the statement, the ministry mentioned that the elements added to the tower at a later stage, which did not match its original character, have been removed, restoring it to its authentic appearance." Nice overview. A common mistake outside Turkey is to serve rakı on the rocks. Yasaktır. Rakı plus ice shocks the anethole (anise oil), creating little crystals that harm both the flavor and the texture. Rakı > Water > Ice. Efe Gold gets its pale amber color from barrel aging. Efe is not the only brand that offers barrel-aged rakı. Göbek means "belly" or middle cut in the distillation process; the head and tail cuts in distillation have off flavors, and chemicals that cause hangovers. Unfortunately, Beylerbeyi and Efe Gold are difficult to find in the USA, so I have to settle for Yeni Rakı. I hope you brought some back with you on your return. Razzouk Lebanese Arak is somewhat easier to find in the USA. It's very similar to Turkish rakı (no added sugar, unlike ouzo), but at 100 proof it has a more intense flavor. My ranking would be about the same as Can's, with Razzouk #3. I haven't tasted Saki Rakı.
