Morrissey was to British indie rock in the 80's as Jim Morrison was to American underground rock in the 60's.

They were so strong with being the direct opposite of typical rock that it was almost a parallel universe where they were the standard of a popular rock band...was a brief moment in time...forever stuck in a modernized version of 1961...
