The way that many get the sward from Zalk is to have Shadowheart switch out one of her spells for Command, then cast Command: Drop on him so he drops his sword. Then someone can pick it up. You have a 50-50 chance at succeeding on the Command spell on him and 2 tries at it if you save your spell slots. 4 in this case since you are also a Cleric.

It is kind of funny that you chose the Knowledge domain but have intelligence as the lowest state and almost had a penalty on int rolls. 😀 Then again, maybe their low to avg int is what drew them to the Knowledge domain, using divine inspiration to compensate for their intelligence being avg, as they strive for that which would have otherwise lain beyond their capabilities. I love how there are so many ways to play the game, and any choice can be justified once you think about them. Freedom is one of the great aspects of RPG's.
