So just a bit of a disclaimer when it comes to CTS-204P / CPM-20CV / M390. It's worth mentioning that if you look at the specs for the steels individually you will quickly realize that 204P, 20CV, and M390 are nearly identical in terms of metallurgy. Well, I got used to WE 20CV and a few other blades in M390, and was the steel good, yeah, but was it great, not really. Well, fast-forward to me purchasing a REC exclusive Spyderco PM2 in CTS-204P, and my opinion on what CTS-204P, 20CV, and M390 are actually capable of when they are heat treated to a more optimal level has been completely upended!! Spyderco must be laying a nasty heat treat to their 204P cause my PM2 is an absolute beast. The edge last for freaking ever and it will strop back with a little bit of diamond emulsion to absolutely hair wildling sharp! The PM2 that I have in 204P absolutely blows most of my other knives in similar steels out of the water. Not to mention it just keeps cutting and cutting. It's probably one of my favorites knives of all time, because not only is it stainless, but it holds and takes an incredible edge. I would almost be willing to bet my paycheck that if I was able to hardness test the Spyderco 204P against some of my other knives in M390 or 20CV it would sit well beyond the hardness of my alternative blades. A great steel!!

Hey man I support your channel I’ve bought cme’s and I’ve enjoyed using them on my compression locks… but I just bought a new shaman and I ordered some rgt scales and hardware, lynch clip and I went to get a cme and was wanting a titanium one but when I seen the price that you are charging for a titanium cme I lost some respect for you that is pure price gouging my god 110 dollars for a tiny cme I realize they are machined and titanium but that is more than a lot of companies charge for machined and micro milled scales you already had the design and equipment for the g10 and other cmes you are just charging the premium for material idk what to think 😢I guess you gotta pay for that Spyderco collectors club somehow huh…
@OCD4EDC3 күн бұрын
I fully understand what you’re saying. I can assure you I’m not price gouging or making tons of $$. I start with 10mm thick Ti which is a lot more expensive than 3-4mm Ti for scales. But the material cost is not the biggest issue. The tiny size and lack of any mounting points is what is really difficult to deal with, milling scales is way easier and faster. It’s a lot easier to machine a part that can be bolted down to a fixture. When machining Ti things need to be very solid. The time it takes to make one Ti CME is more than most people realize. If I billed my time like a machine shop, they would cost more. I’m only offering the Ti CME’s because of how many people have asked for them. I have said all along the cost would be high. I fully understand if the price is more than you’re willing to pay. We appreciate the support and thanks for watching!

For those of you who don’t understand. A real husband “complaining” about having to sharpen his wife’s knives/cleaning her guns isn’t complaining he’s bragging that his wife trusts him! I lost my bride 8 years ago and would give everything for her to decide that my new knife/gun was now hers and that I should clean/sharpen it.
