I’m with you. SW isn’t Marvel. I don’t need every single nook and cranny explored. I don’t need to know every character’s entire back story. Six movies were enough. Hell, three movies were enough for many of us for a long time. Nothing is sacred. Nothing is special. Everything is milked.

Even though I did really like Last Jedi and kind of did enjoy Rouge One and Solo, I’m done. I watched Rise of Skywalker out of obligation to see the trilogy again but If they cancelled all upcoming movies for awhile, or ever, than I wouldn’t care. I feel like these movies don’t have any thing new to offer anymore

Yeah, I can't really disagree with any of this. It's just complete over-familiarity. More Tie-Fighters. More AT-ATs. More "I've got a bad feeling about this." More 'it's your destiny'. More bloody C-3PO. It's just going round and round and round in circles and going nowhere. I had lots of beefs with Last Jedi but I don't think any of it was really Johnson's or the cast's fault. If you look closely at it you see that it is basically Empire Strikes Back beat for beat, that this reheated meal structure was imposed on it above and poor Johnson just freaked out trying to think of novel ways to dress up what we'd already had, hot on the heals of a remake of a New Hope. And the only thing he could think of was to desperately try to subvert expectations for each plot beat to disguise that it was more or less the same film as Empire. I'll see this trilogy out just out of morbid curiosity to see if it's basically Return of the Jedi, and because Emperor Palpatine is the greatest panto villain in the history of camp villainy, and because of that million to one shot that it will actually be great. But I'm not betting on it.

Yeah, hell I even feel like Phasma had a better death than Boba Fett honestly lol. Her death was a conclusion of an arc for Finn. Han just hit Boba because he couldn’t see for a joke.
